INTERVIEW WITH KINEX

KINEX has 110 year tradition in measuring tools, but the company has just reopened and modernized factory and starting producing measuring tools after 2009 crisis again. KINEX has strong background in HTC holding so they could afford to improve factory technologies.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

KINEX: Our main areas of activities are technical industry especially automotive where we supply most of our measuring tools for controlling products that are produced in these factories, quality control and for metrology. We also have our high quality products that are developed directly for metrology laboratories and for companies that are involved in ISO certificates and other quality systems. Besides that, we have group of products for woodworkers. In this part of our product scale we are focused on design, manual practice and materials. We also developed our own software for wireless data transmission from measuring tools to servers and clouds.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

KINEX: In one word: Optimization. Because of really bad economic situation that was caused by pandemic situation COVID19 our customers start putting more and more pressure on decreasing factory processes cost and that is our main goal for this year. So wireless data from quality desks in production real-time monitoring production quality, fast analysis and optimization based on these real-time data could save a lot of money for our customers.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

KINEX: As I said before we are specialized in wide scale measuring tools like calipers, micrometers, spirit levels, edges, rulers, squares. We manufacture these products in DIN Standards also offering inspections and calibration processes for our products as per ISO and VDI. We also specialized in top quality materials carbon fiber and titanium

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

KINEX: Industry market was at his highs in 2018/2019 year. This was the best time for suppliers like us to improve tools, processes, supply new measuring tools, innovate it and deliver best service for our customers. In late 2019 this segment started stagnate together with low business activity. Part of our customers are hobby woodworking producers and family companies with small production and they also lower their orders. Together with all of this pandemic situation this spring put an end to big purchases measuring tools into productions. We have information from our colleagues from different companies who also produce measuring tools that they have only 60-70% sales comparing before this pandemic situation.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

KINEX: Market trends in our branch are digitalization and robotization. We know that hand tools are near end in automotive and similar directions that are focused on quality, fast deliveries and simple solutions. That is the reason why we are developing software for controlling and data transmissions to make it as simple as possible but also with robust background, user friendly and also to lower costs to our customers.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

KINEX: As I mentioned many times it is our software solutions. If I would like to describe it simple. It is system for measuring without any wire. Realtime monitoring of measuring points or product anywhere, anytime from one place. Realtime monitoring of your measuring processes of your factories, lines, operations, products down to measuring point details. Due to the Cloud Solution you have your data available anywhere, anytime, all the time. Streaming to your server or Integration with your ERP system ready. Central quality and stability of measuring processes, management of workplaces, operators, products or measuring points. Automatic protocol generation, approved deviation tracking. Charts, data analyzing and reporting.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

KINEX: It is hard to tell. There are a lot of factors that will have influence. How will we handle economic recessions that is coming. If our governments support companies like us if it will be enough. It will depend of customers taste of spending money, invests into future or just survive in the market. We will continue in our hard work to provide our customers best service in all situation to show them that they could rely on us and we will help them in every matter.
