What started as a tool shop in 1927, has become one of the leading suppliers and innovators in the pharmaceutical industry. Krämer offers more than 45 years of know-how in tablet dedusting and are specialized in the engineering and manufacture of tablet dedusting, capsule polishing and conveying equipment for the oral solid dosage pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and vitamin industries.
Since Krämer’s invention of the first vertical vibratory tablet deduster more than 45 years ago, the company has done pioneering work in developing innovative, customer-specific special systems. In cooperation with tablet press, capsule filling and packaging line manufacturers all over the world, they develop special solutions to meet specific applications in dust tight (DT) areas and containment (C) or high containment (HC) environments.
More than 9000 Krämer dedusters and capsule polishers ensure a smooth daily operation in pharmaceutical plants. Multinational to regional manufacturers of tablets and capsules appreciate the quality and reliability of our products.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
KRÄMER: The company specializes in the engineering and manufacture of tablet dedusting, capsule polishing and conveying equipment for the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and vitamin industries. Our worldwide network with 3 own Krämer locations and more than 40 representatives allows us to maintain a close relationship with all customers, thanks to which we can guarantee optimal service and support.
E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
KRÄMER: This year we were proud to present a relaunch of our main product lines. With the new KD7015A and KD7035A combi dedusters we are one step closer to the future. Thanks to the new CPU with optimal performance for faster start-up, stable operation and OPC UA interface ready for communication to higher-level systems, the new KD70 A-Series is able to stands out from the crowd.
Our economical solution, the KD60 Series, is suitable for almost all process requirements and is even more handy thanks to a re-design. All product contacting parts are stainless steel. The inlet and outlet can be rotated independently from each other, which gives maximum flexibility for placing the machine in the facility. This deduster offer our unique patented counterweight solution with integrated acceleration sensor. The KD6015 model can be combined with a metal detector by Ceia, Lock or Safeline.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
KRÄMER: Kramer makes a full range of dedusters to fit a wide range of applications. From standard economically priced machines for typical applications to high capacity, and highly customized machines for specific oral solid manufacturing processes.
The KD70 A WIP Series is also suitable for high containment applications up to OEB5. The unit can complete automatic washing cycles and can be washed in place or if required off line. Kramer also strives to satisfy our customers project needs by being flexible in our designs e.g., 2-way diverter with hopper system for continuous-in-process (IPC) controls. Credit: Krämer AG
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
KRÄMER: The pharmaceutical market is not a mature market, but does not move very fast. The pharma market growth is driven by new product innovation, continued price pressure to lower costs, and government agency regulatory requirements (FDA, etc.)
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
KRÄMER: The current pharma market has two growing areas high potent handling of very toxic substances, and continuous manufacturing.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
KRÄMER: In such highly regulated industry, it is hard to find a radical product innovation. What we see are incremental innovations which aims at improving existing products and optimizing production processes by making them more efficient and reliable for our customers.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?
KRÄMER: 2021 will just be another strong year for most players in our industry. Due to Corona, there are some extra risks and challenges to be taken. Strong geographic variations as well as segment-specific ups and downs are flattened down on a global level – all giving ground and opportunities for future growth.
