Easy Engineering: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?
Lintec&Linnhoff: In 2020, Lintec & Linnhoff actively marketed 2 new product series under the Lintec brand – CDP and CSE, and the Linnhoff OMX series.
The Lintec CDP (Continuous Drum Plant) is an asphalt mixing plant with continuous mixing method instead of batch. The smallest capacity model is constructed in a high-cube container, and the rest of the range is constructed as mobile asphalt mixing plants with built-in chassis. Even though the mixing process is continuous, it has an external mixer to enable production of quality homogeneous hot mix asphalt and an external baghouse for a better pollution control system.
The Lintec CSE (Containerised Screen Evolution) series is a batch-type asphalt mixing plant designed in standardised container structure that can be adapted as a city plant. As it is built in standardised container structure, future upgrading and retrofitting can be done easily.
Linnhoff OMX (OptiMix) is a batch-type asphalt mixing plant designed in modules that can fit into containers for economical shipments. It is offered in a range with higher rated output than the Linnhoff Screen Drum Asphalt Mixing Plants series. Additionally, it is intended for road contractors who are more comfortable with the conventional drying and screening method with Hot Elevator and Vibrating Screens instead of the Screen Drum system.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
Lintec&Linnhoff: Our main manufacturing facilities are located in Asia, while our sales office and distribution channels can be found across a comprehensive network in more than 80 countries, such as Europe, Latin America, Russia, China, Southeast Asia, South Asia, etc. For decades, our experienced local sales representatives, distributors and partners, are already working actively in above domestic markets to promote the sales of our full range of product for the construction industries.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
Lintec&Linnhoff: The main market of the Balkans region is Romania, but we can see same or similar trends in all other countries. Amidst current Covid pandemic, businesses are facing a new normal with caution as markets re-open. There are local and parliamentary elections taking place this year and following the trends of last 30 years, national budget for the next year will be the biggest challenge. From this budgetary frame will be derived (considering our business line) the main investment engine: European Funds dedicated to road construction companies. These funds are the main source of finance for construction and road equipment machines.
If we are to follow the market trends of the last 3 years, we can see an average increase in the many sectors connected to road construction. Construction machinery market increased on average with 15%, construction truck market increased with 13%. While the potential is at a very high level and the available EU funded projects are “at hand”, it is up to political environment to create the frame favorable for investing in asphalt and concrete production facilities.
Demand for concrete increased in the last three years. Main sectors were residential and office buildings despite the Covid-19 restrictions in the last few months.
At the same time, budget for infrastructure investments increased more than 3 times since last year, if we are to consider the official figures of public tenders concerning road building and modernization. If the private sector will follow the trend is a matter of both supplier/manufacturer engagements in the market and a stable and predictable economic environment created by the political establishment.
Our German subsidiary, Lintec & Linnhoff Germany, is having a strong presence in all Balkans and also has a long experience in handling different EU funds or local financial requirements. We are not only supplying quality products; we are supplying reliable advice and expertise.
