LiveView Technologies (LVT) provides mobile, turnkey surveillance technology. The company combines proprietary software and hardware to create a cloud-based security system that does not require hardwired power or internet connections. Instead, their technology uses cellular connectivity, edge computing, and multiple off-the-grid power options to ensure that our units provide reliable surveillance in any environment.
LiveView Technologies units usees top-of-the-line cameras, speakers, and lights that automatically pair with the LVT Platform, their video management system (VMS). The real power of LVT is in their software. It enables automated security and active deterrence methods that help prevent crime.
Interview with David Studdert, Chief Business Development Officer at LiveView Technologie.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
David Studdert: We partner with some of the biggest brands in the word to make the world a better, safer place. We have clients in retail, law enforcement and emergency services, construction, critical infrastructure, property management, entertainment, and more. Most clients use LVT Units for reliable video surveillance, but also to prevent crimes. Our units use features like a two-way speaker, intrusion detection, and flashing strobe lights to help our clients improve security, set a perimeter, and actively deter crimes. Furthermore, the number of use cases for our units is extremely varied and is only limited by our clients’ imagination. For example, we have a client who uses the units to protect their commercial gardens from deer and another that watches a remote highway to see when they need to send a snowplow out to the remote location.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
D.S: The units’ main power source is solar. However, it was difficult to keep the units powered in areas with limited sunlight. That’s why we recently added fuel cell generators to our units. These fuel cells require little maintenance, are extremely quiet, and emit no harmful exhaust byproducts. They are better for the environment and make LVT Units more reliable even in the most rugged environment.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
D.S: We offer multiple software and hardware options so we can support every level of client, whether they need a single unit for a remote construction site or hundreds of units in parking lots across the country. Every unit comes with access to our SaaS LVT Platform but depending on the needs of the client and the type of unit they have, the software will have different levels of access and capabilities.
Currently, we have a surveillance only option, called the Omni, which is a single camera. This unit gives clients 24/7 live monitoring but does not include any active deterrence or live alerts. Our other unit, called the D3, helps clients actively detect, deter, defend against threats. This option still provides 24/7 monitoring, but it is also equipped with live alerts, analytics, and more so our clients can act before an incident happens instead of just having video of it.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
D.S: The market is growing. CCTV towers and mobile security units are more widely used. As more use cases emerge, more and more companies are looking to them as an option for quality security that has a lower price point and doesn’t require complex installation. They are quick, efficient, and easy to install.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
D.S: The last few years have been unprecedented and introduced new challenges to the security industry. Crime is rising while those who combat it is decreasing. There are less police officers, loss prevention and asset protection personnel, and security guards. These jobs are becoming increasingly more dangerous and less appreciated, which is why more companies are looking to automated security.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
D.S: Our most innovative product is the LVT Platform. While our hardware is impressive, the software that powers it is the real magic of LVT. Through our software, clients can receive live alerts on their phones, a health summary for their units, live and archived footage, security analytics, and more.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
D.S: We are already on track to have 100% year over year growth. Our product meets a unique need in the safety and security industry. That need is going to keep growing as we expand in retail, critical infrastructure, emergency response, and construction.
