INTERVIEW WITH MANITEX VALLA

Manitex Valla is a subsidiary of the US group Manitex International, the company is based in Italy and are the inventors and market leader on mobile pick and carry cranes. The company started its activity in 1945 and produces electric cranes for industrial applications since the 70’s.

Interview with Carlo Forini, Manitex Valla.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company? 

Carlo Forini: The company design and develops mobile pick and carry cranes and carry deck cranes, the machines are fully electric so battery powered.

E.E: What’s the news about new products? 

C.F: We have recently launched the „R” series, the machines of the new generation with front traction with AC motors and with full remote control, we have launched the range from 3.6, 8 ,11, and the latest 21 T of max lifting capacity.

E.E: What are the ranges of products? 

C.F: We have basically 2 ranges: Pick & Carry and Carry Deck Cranes all full electric.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active? 

C.F: It is a niche application but growing since the demand of greener products with no emission to work indoor is there, many countries are acting more strictly concerning regulations for safety and low emission and our products can answer this need. 

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed? 

C.F: The V210Rrepresent the latest evolution of our product range).

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022? 

C.F: Quite unpredictable at the moment, the demand is there but there is still uncertainty due to the steel & chip crunch which is affecting availability and deliveries.
