E.E: What’s the news about new products?

MEDISOL: In 2021, the Medical Device Regulation became effective. The MDR is the successor to the Medical Device Directive (MDD). This amended law provides all the frameworks and requirements that must be met before a CE Mark may be applied to medical devices. The MDR essentially outlines a framework for the quality of the medical devices produced. Guaranteeing clinical safety during use is central to this. In essence, it is about reducing the risks to the health of users as much as possible. This MDR results in a shift in new products for the upcoming years.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

MEDISOL: All our products and services are resuscitation related. Besides AEDs and defibrillators from several manufacturers, we are your partner for AED accessories (batteries/electrodes), CPR training Manikins, AED training devices, AED wall cabinets and a wide range of other CPR accessories.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

MEDISOL: This differs from market to market. The Netherlands and Denmark are countries with a high amount of placed and uses AED’s. In these countries, the survival rates in case of a cardiac arrest are also higher than in many other countries. The upcoming years we expect to grow further in all our markets.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

MEDISOL: The use of an AED becomes more and more well known, and every day there are more lives saved by using an AED. Since the early 2000’s this market is still growing.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

MEDISOL: We see a development that the AED’s become more and more connected to the internet, so the owner can receive push messages in case of a failure or when the battery is low, or the electrodes are nearly due date.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

MEDISOL: We expect that Medisol will grow further this year. While being the biggest brand independent AED supplier in Europe already, we expect a further yearly growth in sales of about 30% this year.
