Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: The focus lies only on producing steam turbines and while this narrows the range of products, every turbine is one-of-a-kind. We believe that only those who take into account individual wishes of the customer and are not unsettled by technical requirements that do not fit into any scheme, are able to satisfy their customer, think outside the box and reach new heights.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: All our products are new and unique, since we exclusively produce turbines tailored to the needs of our customers and partners.
E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: We produce turbines in a range of 200 kW up to 25MW with induction, extraction, turbines for district heating applications, Back-pressure turbines, consenting turbines and our newest addition the Mini-Turbine.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: In times of growing interest in renewable energy sources and energy transformations, steam turbines present one sustainable and effective way to „recycle” by products like steam, to produce energy, which would have otherwise gone to waste.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: We participate from new regulations for sludge treatment which leads into the requirement of sludge incineration plants and that open up new paths to expand our range of potential customers.
Moreover, the incentives for the reduction of carbon emissions are increasing the demand for steam turbines used in biomass power plants.
Finally, we see future opportunities caused by a new EU restriction for the export of waste which will become effective in 2021 and will likely lead into a big number of waste to energy projects.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
M+M Turbinen-Technik: Our unique Mini-Turbine, which has also recently been featured in the VDMA, has been gaining popularity since the launch in 2017. This demonstrates growing interest in „smaller and more compact” steam turbines. The special feature of the mini-turbine, besides its compact design, is the electrical power of 200-500kW. Thanks to M+M’s Mini-Turbine, our customers can now use even small amounts of steam effectively.
With the Mini-Turbine, we have created an innovation in the field of small – scale steam turbines. Up to now, many potential applications for steam turbines in the low − power range have not been economically feasible, due to high capital cost and low power production. We have developed the solution.
