INTERVIEW WITH NESTRO

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

NESTRO: When Paulus Nettelnstroth founded NESTRO® Lufttechnik GmbH in 1977, he never dreamed that his family company would be among the three largest system specialists for extraction and filtering technology in Europe one day. Today the company is managed successfully in the second generation by his son Robert Nettelnstroth. Within the group of companies, more than 150 employees work at NESTRO® Lufttechnik GmbH in Germany. Within the NESTRO® group the sister companies in Germany, Poland and Hungary have another 100 employees between them.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

NESTRO: System thinking and customer-oriented action is the NESTRO® recipe for success in different industries. We ask the right questions to our customers:

  • What problems can you solve with air pressure and filtration, what processes can you improve?
  • How can you reuse materials filtered out of the raw gas?
  • How can you put the clean gas – with a dust content of less than 1 mg/m3 – produced by filtration to good use?
  • How can the energy optimization of systems be realized in keeping with your requirements and train of machines, and what intelligent controllers can help you with that?
  • How do you achieve the greatest possible safety in continuous operation?
  • What subsidies can you obtain for this?

We provide our customers with everything from one source, perfectly coordinated.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

NESTRO: We have updated our range of modular filters, effectively filtering large volumes of air from 4,000 up to 200,000 m³/hr. Also, we introduced new lines of shredders for different material, special shredders for paper skeletons, large size separators as well as new briquetting presses.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

NESTRO: NESTRO® supplies system equipment for extraction and filtering technology as well as innovative solutions in the business areas of heating, surface processing and disposal & recycling engineering – “Made in Germany”, ISO 9001 certified.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

NESTRO: Despite Corona and despite the bottlenecks in material supply (metal, wood, plastic …) our customers are investing to be more competitive in the future. It is globally understood you can improve product quality, machine downtimes as well as overall working conditions if you are able to efficiently extract e.g. dust, chips, paint mist or fume. We expect our market to grow further and even faster.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

NESTRO: Industry 4.0 is setting the pace. The arrival of the “Internet of Things and Services” within most of our customers’ industries is accelerating processes, changing routines and will advance the individualization of the end products.  Setting-up, standing and maintenance times, energy efficiency or recycling rates/qualities are all increasingly becoming matters for the focus of managerial attention. NESTRO® provides customer support to face-up to these new challenges.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

NESTRO: Innovation is not the top criteria here. But in our low-tech industry there is a need for application experience. NESTRO® sales managers benefit from their extensive know-how in various industries with very different requirements. So customers can benefit from numerous cases in similar applications on the background of almost 45 years of experience. On the other hand, it is more and more important to supply highly energy efficient and silently running systems. This is why energy system data mining is what larger companies are focusing on to significantly save money on a day-to-day basis. With the NESTRO® Logic control system offering new analysis opportunities we are able to provide a wide variety of data evaluation.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

NESTRO: The first half year was very promising in terms of order entry, sales and earnings. We want to close this year well above the previous year and even above our ambitious plan.
