INTERVIEW WITH NETARUS

Netarus provides disruptive solutions to the material handling industry. Through technology, the company develops easy to use systems that increase safety and productivity across many markets including construction, industrial, marine and transportation industries. Netarus’ passion is in engineering and designing rugged safety and situational awareness platforms for these industries. Supported by a fully-degreed staff of mechanical, electrical and computer engineers, Netarus provides effective and affordable solutions to small and large enterprise commercial, industrial, and government customers.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Netarus: Our primary activities are wireless and wired camera systems that help increase the productivity and safety of crane operations while reducing operator and worksite stress thereby increasing efficiencies all around.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

Netarus: For 2020 we introduced a new series and upgraded all our models. Each model has been enhanced based on the last several years’ experience of customer experience in the field. These enhancements help optimize customer requirements in construction, marine, industrial, and transportation industries.

In addition, all our legacy models still in production are constantly upgraded to keep up with the latest technologies.

On the service side, we introduced our new Remote Access Module that allows remote viewing of one or multiple camera systems over any device including smart devices (phones/tablets). This is an optional capability that is not native but can be added at the initial purchase or integrated at a later date.

We have some interesting ideas for the future in our “Skunk Works” so stay tuned for these developments.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

Netarus: Our wide range of HoistCam cameras eliminate blind and long-distance lifts for heavy equipment.

Our model line for 2020 is:

  • HC100 Wired Single Screen HoistCam (legacy);
  • HC145 Low Profile HoistCam;
  • HC185 Armored Dome HoistCam;
  • HC195 PTZ (Pan/Tilt/Zoom) HoistCam;
  • iSeries (for wired in systems or external batteries).

There is a HoistCam model to fit virtually every application. Features include, but are not limited to; wireless or wired versions, multiple wide/split screen capabilities, external or internal batteries or tied to a local power source such as 12V, solar, 110V, or 220V, remote access, recording, and audio transmission from camera to operator.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

Netarus: At this point, the market is reaching the stage of early maturity. The ideas for this technology have been around for some time. Now we are seeing the evolution of the products as a function of the latest technological developments into some very interesting capabilities.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Netarus: Up until a few months ago, market trends would have been easier to speculate on. Now with the global pandemic, it is difficult, if not unrealistic, to make any sense of what the future holds, certainly from an economic perspective. Some sectors are likely to remain strong as a function of artificial stimulation or market demands. Others? We’ll have to just wait and see. Fortunately, we are just the right size to be nimble and able to pivot and adapt to whatever is headed our way.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

Netarus: We had a very positive outlook for 2020 but the Covid-19 pandemic has overshadowed all expectations. It is too early in all this to make any new predictions for this year.
