INTERVIEW WITH NGR- NEXT GENERATION RECYCLING MACHINES

NGR-Next Generation Recycling Machines is a recycling machines manufacturer who works with the smartest solutions for providing the industry with energy-efficient and reliable plastics recycling. The company has developed a modular design concept which allows to configure the lines to the specific requirements of each customer.

Easy  Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

NGR: We provide technology solutions for the biggest divisions of recycling worldwide, post-consumer (PCR) , post-industrial (PIR) and PET recycling.

E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?

NGR: We are growing stronger in PET Technology for example in food grade bottle applications and PCR-post consumer recycling is also gaining a lot of impulse since the new regulations for plastics and material handling in Europe are coming into place as well as the public pressure to change to a circular economy.

We are always innovating in recycling technologies like our Liquid State Polycondensation Reactor (LSP) and improving our systems for PIR for example with our latest machine – NXT:GRAN and PCR with our modular flexible concept. In NGR, the client with our consulting and the help of the test center can configure the machine in the best way to process their own material. Energy efficiency is a big request and it is also part of our mission since NGR was founded, so we are constantly searching for improvements in this area as well.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

NGR: We divide our machines per application but they are also flexible to process different materials. Our machines have a wide range on volume, materials and applications but we are able to provide the right solution from 50 kilograms to around 3 Tons per hour.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

NGR: The market is growing and new players are coming into it. Everyone is looking into reducing, reusing and recycling, even the big manufacturers of raw materials are looking for new ways to introduce recycled materials into the masterbatches and rebrand their virgin material mixed with a percentage of recycled.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

NGR: We are witnessing a rapid development of the markets mentioned before and investment is moving forward accordingly. This is due to the change in paradox and social pressure we have seen in the past five years which in time pushed the vision and goals for full circularity in plastics recycling worldwide from 2050 to 2030. I can say with certainty this trend will only gain more momentum in the moths to come.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

NGR: Our Liquid State Polycondensation Technology is state of the art and a unique take on PET Improvement.

In the same way, our re-designed NXT:GRAN machine is leading the way in post industrial recycling, with our improved and proved one step technology being able to process basically any form of material with low energy consumption while preserving material properties and avoiding degradation.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021?

NGR: We foresee a substantial increase in the recycling markets worldwide including mechanical and chemical reprocessing of thermoplastics and related materials. PET leading the way as the plastic most recycled worldwide with a widely spread infrastructure and know how, but not leaving behind the increasing demand on commodities as well as novelty plastics and biomaterials.
