When they first hear about Fast Tent, some people imagine a ‘bouncy castle’! However, Njordair’s products are very robust and have been ‘tried and tested’ by construction companies in some of the toughest environments worldwide.

When work crews are protected, they are more productive. Likewise, when projects are protected and temperature controlled, activities such as concrete pouring and applying coatings can continue year round. Using a Fast Tent enables construction companies to work on projects and guarantee delivery dates, even during the winter months.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Lewis Meredith: We deal mainly with projects that require weather protection or temperature control. These are the two most popular applications; however Fast Tent has been designed to be as versatile as possible. Recently, we’ve had a lot of questions for the possibility of sand blasting at our most recent trade show, and it’s completely possible by using a tarpaulin attached to the interior anchor points.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

L.M: Well, our standard range has been newly re-designed to improve the snow shedding capabilities and the general strength under load. With that, we’ve also recently introduced a 3m ‘half tent’ system allowing works to proceed in even in the tightest areas of a construction site.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

L.M: Our product range varies from sealed air, constant air, half tents and even 4 way corner modules! Usually however, we provide a standard range varying from 6m up to 14m wide and all of these are completely customizable with a choice of up to 18 colours. Additionally, all tents have large customizable branding which can be removed when required.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

L.M: The market and interest are increasing each year, however our main focus currently is just creating product and brand awareness, getting it out there! Recently, we did the World of Concrete trade show in Las Vegas and the amount of interest shown was incredible!

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

L.M: The most significant market trend we’ve noticed is the interest from the US compared to the UK and the rest of the world. With much more extreme weather, comes much more weather-related delays, including a vast amount of swimming pool construction and repair companies not being able to work throughout the winter months. For this, being able to heat and cool the environment inside the tent is a real game-changer!

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

L.M: It has got to be one of our standard range Fast Tents! A lot of thought has gone into the constant re-development using comments from clients and from our own experiences over the years. This includes changing the design and incorporating additional features to make the use of Fast Tent more refined and productive.

Additionally, clients are pleasantly surprised when we can support our claim they inflate in a matter of minutes by demonstration.
