INTERVIEW WITH PAGANI PENS

Pagani Pens is a global leader in the field of innovative technology for the development of writing instruments. Since 1961, its sole focus has been on the needs of the customer, attention to detail and respect for both its employees and the environment. With its brands, Pagani Pens exports its excellent standards all over the world.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

At our core lies a fervent passion: to craft writing instruments that become more than tools – they become ambassadors for meaningful communication. We believe in the enduring power of the written word, and our goal is to reignite the art of writing and its irreplaceable value. Through these beautiful tools, we hope to inspire tangible actions that can create positive change for many.

Since 1961, we’ve been crafting our products with respect for people and the planet. Local production and sustainable practices are at the heart of everything we do. We care about our customers, our employees, and the world around us.

With its Prodir, Pigra and Premec brands, Pagani Pens exports its excellence all over the world. Prodir writing instruments are effective promotional tools known for their internationally award-winning designs and countless personalisation options. Pigra’s entry level pens provide a simple and faster way for companies to get their brand into everyone’s hands.  Tips, inks and refills are engineered and developed by Premec.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Pagani Pens isn’t just a B2B company selling promotional products worldwide. We also cater to customers who love our pen components. This diversity makes us more adaptable to market changes.

Our strategically located offices ensure excellent customer service across Europe, America, and Asia. Our main sales and service hub is in Northern Europe, with a strong presence in Switzerland and Germany.

We’re committed to creating a positive impact. We’re rethinking our business model based on the circular economy, which minimizes waste and uses resources efficiently. Through collaboration with our partners, we’re identifying ways to create shared value for everyone involved.

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

Today, even in a digital age, we believe pens remain essential for expressing ourselves. With our experience and love for writing, we want to bring back the importance of handwriting as a tool for personal development.

Many of our pens even connect to the digital world: a unique QR code links each pen to a customized web app, adding a modern twist to the classic pen experience.

With just two parts, our DS11 helps you keep it simple. It’s a non-nonsense pen that writes well, is infinitely refillable, and is perfect for straightforward brand messages that get right to the point.

E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?

We manufacture our writing instruments ourselves, from the Premec inks, refills, metal tips to the nose cones, in ultra-modern production facilities with employees who are qualified and insured.  Our wide range of Prodir pens varies from the icon entry level model DS3 to the premium QS50 Stone, made with 60% less plastic.

We also craft and sell personalized notebooks, thanks to our collaboration with Portuguese company mishmash.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

European markets have always been the core of our business and we are registering interesting feedback from the US and Asian markets, where our added value is finding its appreciation. The attention to detail and quality has changed in the last few years with a strongly focused approach on sustainability, that is where we stand out from competitors. You can just think to the fact that almost 20 years ago we already modified all our products to be refillable, so reusable potentially forever.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Today’s consumers are making choices based on a company’s impact on society and the environment.  In response,  businesses are embracing CSR,  integrating social good into their core practices.  This trend is here to stay, with  growing demand for sustainable products and ethical operations.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

We have developed materials that represent a real leap forward in terms of sustainability. Examples are Prodir QS Stone Series, made of a mineral-enriched material for a sustainable 60% less plastic and the QS40 and DS8 True Biotic – the first pens to be made from PHA, an innovative biopolymer derived from renewable natural sources.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2024?

A significant development is to be expected in the field of CSR focused manufacturers who offer sustainable product solutions for the promotional industry. Thanks to local partnerships and the mutual promo campaigns which we carry out with our brand distributors, we ensure a strong engagement for generating mutual growth.

With the launch of two novelty products, our Prodir DS11 and the QS50 Stone, we underlined again our vision towards a CSR and sustainability driven organization with a strong drive for innovation. This all to empower our customers with best design- and strongly communicating brand ambassadors.
