INTERVIEW WITH PRISMATECH

PRISMATECH is a family company providing quality and effective performance in industrial food processing equipment.

Interview with Marsela Toli, International Sales & Marketing Specialist at PRISMATECH.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

Marsela Toli: The company was established 15 years ago by our director Mr. Tiziano Bernini. Tiziano, the sole owner of PRISMATECH, has over 40 years’ experience in the beverage processing industry, specialising in water production, juices and soft drinks. His son, Luca Bernini, is the Vice Director, and has been an influential part of the journey throughout; from a two-person venture to today’s limited company with 20 employees.

All projects are developed in-house from start-to-finish, from the mechanical and electrical design, software development, construction, testing, on-site installation and tests and after-sales care. The machinery is custom-made to the specific requirements of the customer, allowing a greater feasibility and a personal touch.

We have a long history of collaboration with many leading companies and groups throughout Italy, the Middle East, Europe, Africa, Asia and South America, including renowned references from major companies in the beverage and food industries.

Our mostly young, diverse staff hails from a mixture of nationalities and backgrounds, allowing us to be dynamic and reactive when finding innovative solutions to customer requests.

The main ways in which we achieve this are:

  • By improving the efficiency of our systems

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

M.T: After a significant slowdown due to the outbreak of the COVID-19 pandemic, the soft drinks market has resumed its rapid expansion and it is estimated to reach $ 589.9 billion by 2028, with a growth rate of 5.3% during the forecast period.

In general, according to the last researches undertaken from the Business Research Company, the global food and beverages market grew from $6,729.54 billion in 2022 to $7,221.73 billion in 2023 at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 7.3%. Obviously, the Russia-Ukraine war disrupted a little the chances of global economic recovery from the COVID-19 pandemic, at least in the short term. Nevertheless, the food and beverages market are expected to grow to $9,225.37 billion in 2027 at a CAGR of 6.3%. We feel confident to stick with this forecast.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

M.T: In a post-pandemic world, consumer profiles are continuing to change and new trends towards health and sustainability continue to merge, and mental well-being is increasingly coming into focus.

Products with potentially stress-relieving ingredients, refreshing healthy energy drinks made of energy-boosting ingredients or 100% natural and stimulant fruit, flavoured water with no preservatives, sugar-free beverage, and Active Nutrition & Functional Drinks are at the centre of consumer interest.

Thus, food supplements and beverages with ingredients associated with a strong immune system are particularly sought after.

Due to travel restrictions, also exotic flavour combinations are very enticing to nowadays consumers because they trigger sensory experiences as well as plant-based and herb-infused drinks and milk-based drinks.

Ready-to-drink alcoholic beverages are getting very popular: indeed, RTD alcoholic drinks with low alcohol content made of a combination of a wide variety of alcohol and other beverages (such as soda, juice, mixed fruits ingredients, etc.) are really appreciated.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

M.T: Speaking of RTD drinks, we have helped many new and long-term clients to start a new line for the production of alcopops.

We are talking about a plant specifically designed for the mixing and carbonation of pre-mixed cocktails with medium-low alcohol content, such as alcoholic cucumber-flavoured drink, vodka-based drinks, and another of our clients is about to launch a brand-new product for the South American market. We can’t disclose much information about it, all we can say is that it is new product with fine bubbles, the ideal combination of alcohol and other secret ingredients, perfect for cocktails lovers!

Bring us your idea, and Prismatech will transform it into reality.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2023?

M.T: 2023 started in a great way for our company and our agenda already is well planned. We have started working on new projects and looking forward to the upcoming ones.
