INTERVIEW WITH RIGHETTI VACUUM LIFTERS

Righetti Vacuum Lifters likes to define themselves as vacuum lifters specialists. Righetti’s vacuum lifters are a below-the-hook lifting equipment to use on a crane. They are internally designed, manufactured and shipped from the headquarters in Verona, Italy to all over the world with the aim of increasing working productivity, while ensuring ergonomics and safety. The company’s long-term expertise, combined with the typically Italian creativity, help them create the perfect solution for all lifting needs.

Interview with Olga Kaliska, Sales Director at Righetti Vacuum Lifters.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Olga Kaliska: We employ the vacuum lifting technology in several sectors for simplify the handling of glass, windows, sandwich panels, sheet metal, aluminum, stone, slabs and many other materials. Our range of vacuum lifters counts more than 1000 models among the different areas of activity.

For construction and outdoors use, we have developed a wide range of battery-powered vacuum lifters. On the contrary, we offer numerous wired models when the electrical or pneumatic power supply is available.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

O.K: The different industries are evolving, thus demanding new lifting solutions. Our R&D Department relies on a deep know-how that ensures the constant fulfillment of the market’s needs. Thant’s why we are currently focusing on improving and increasing our vacuum lifters’ features and optional, also thanks to the constant feedback from our clients. Our mission is to offer the most modern, versatile, easy-to-use and well-equipped solutions.

Just to make an example, in the metal processing industry, we are encountering increasingly positive feedback to our telescopic vacuum lifters as they make it possible and extremely easy to handle both small and large sheet metal.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

O.K: Our range of products is quite extensive as we count vacuum lifters for glass, cladding, sheet metal, ceramics, stone. They can be manufactured for handling small or big loads, depending on the client’s requirements. However, we strive to design the most modular vacuum lifters as possible, in order to offer just one complete, efficient and flexible solution for most needs.

We challenge our knowledge and competences into customizing standard models and designing brand new solutions to meet the customer’s specific case.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

O.K: Working with different sectors on an international level gives us an ample perspective of the market. Although the last years have been rough on many levels, we have met with an increasing number of requests for vacuum lifters in all areas of activity. Not only do companies and workers recognize the benefits of employing this lifting equipment, but we have also invested energies in positioning our company, despite the external adversities.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

O.K: Our market researches confirm the on-going trends of the past few years.

Porcelain continues to increase its market share, resulting in the need of specific lifting solutions for its handling.

Sandwich panels keep being largely employed in roof and wall cladding because of their great insulating properties. More and more companies understand the working advantages of using a vacuum lifter for installing sandwich panels, but they are facing more complex textures of the surfaces as a result of aesthetic needs. For these reasons, we are constantly developing special suction pads that can be interchanged with the standard ones. This feature is particularly appreciated by our clients because it guarantees the highest modularity with just one lifter.

Finally, glass plays a big role in the construction environment. Oversize glass is the must-have of the latest trends – resulting in heavier panels and windows to be handled. Using a vacuum lifter hooked to a crane is the safest and fastest way to install oversize glass panels.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

O.K: We like to provide our clients with versatile solutions. Among the wide range of modular models, we must mention two of our most innovative vacuum lifters, which are also the most appreciated by our customers. Both vacuum lifters are site-oriented thanks to their modularity, removable and rechargeable batteries, high-safety devices and dual vacuum circuit.

CL1 is an all-round cladding vacuum lifter for installing both roof and wall sandwich panels. Its modular frame which gets to form its compact transport and storage stand once dissembled, can be quickly adapted to different applications, thus encountering the approval of cladders.

GLE4+8 is a vacuum lifter for handling glass up to 1.5 ton. Glass installers love this model for its wireless remote control, its powered tilting and rotation, and its versatile frame. Thanks to quick couplings, GLE4+8 allows a fast and tool-free adaptability to both small and oversize glass panels. Moreover, this vacuum lifter counts a wide range of interchangeable optional to make it employable also in other applications.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

O.K: Despite the uncertainty of the last years, we look at the future with an optimistic view. The growth of our network and the reinforcement of our existing partnerships will lead us towards a continuous growth and new opportunities. Investing in new projects and digital technologies will be the main asset, as well as attending the most important trade shows of our sector.
