Roco9 is a family-owned company based in Northern Ireland. It’s a proud fact to say that over 70% of the worlds Mobile Crushing and Screening products are all produced inside a 40-mile zone, and Roco is strategically based right between Dublin and Belfast. The ace card for Roco is that they bring unmatched user experience in this field of equipment as the family background is in quarrying, which started back in 1978. This age-old knowledge allows Roco to excel at innovation and produce new, super-efficient machines that are field-tested and built with the operator in mind.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
ROCO9: Roco’s focus and main activity is using our experience to develop a new line of crushing and screening equipment that is aimed at the general recycling and demolition contractor, while also very suitable for the rental fleet market. Roco equipment is all mobile and built as tracked units which typically weigh between 25-40t. These machines allow the operator to move around from site to site with efficient speed and ease.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
ROCO9: Roco has recruited and invested heavily in R&D. We have spent the last 2 years developing our new unique 29t Diesel Electric HYBRID jaw crusher (Ryder 1000) which is now in steady production with growing sales across Europe. Furthermore, new crushing and screening projects are well underway and we are due to start testing on a new HYBRID 30t Impact crusher in February 2022 which will then officially launch at the Hillhead exhibition in the UK, June 2022.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
ROCO9: The Roco product range covers the Recycling, Demolition and Quarrying sectors. Due to the size and the flexibility of our equipment, these machines can be taken to site with speedy setup times and can be processing materials within hours of arrival to site. Roco can offer both companies and customers alike our super-efficient crushers to suit their vast range of crushing applications while also offering screening solutions for segregation.
Our screening range includes the robust Roco 1600S scalping screen which has a large selection of various screen media for all aspects of recycling screening and the powerhouse triple deck Roco X7T aggregate screener. Customers also have the option to purchase the XR rinsing screen models which are washing / rinsing screens that assist in cleaning aggregates that can be reused for road surfacing, concrete, asphalt or even the gold mining industry.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
ROCO9: Roco is aimed at a global market and the world over acknowledges that Northern Ireland is home to Mobile Crushing and Screening, so they purchase their products with confidence.
It’s a great comfort for the customer knowing that they will receive a top-quality product that is proven in all climates and tough environments worldwide.
The global market is extremely busy and recovering at a great pace after 18 months of slow-paced life during the Covid-19 Pandemic. Roco is witnessing great demand from customers and potential companies that are interested in representing the Roco product line as they see the benefits of the new Eco-Friendly Electric driven machines.
We are also very proud to say that they are the first company ever from Northern Ireland to have one of their tracked rinsing screens aired on Discovery Channel on the world-famous ‘Gold Rush, Dave Turin’s Lost Mine’ program in 2021. The now-famous ‘ Roco Roach’ as nicknamed by Dave Turin and his team made headlines in our industry as it was aired to over 25 million viewers worldwide in season 3 of filming. This has been a phenomenal marketing campaign for Roco as the machine was the pivotal piece of equipment that helped Team Turin recover over $1M Dollars in its first working season.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
ROCO9: Market trends strongly indicate that everybody needs to start thinking of the future and with the environment in mind when they are purchasing any product.
It’s fair to say that crushing and screening machines play a massive part in creating the world we live in, yet not everyone may release that. Be it infrastructure, housing, creating new green energy facilities or even creating toothpaste! These materials all pass through some form of crushing and screening process so it is very important to have efficient machines to carry out these basic tasks.
Global warming and carbon emissions are at an all-time high and this is something that we have acknowledged as all new Roco equipment are Hybrid builds which can also be operated from 100% onsite electricity. Choosing an electric machine is a massive step in the right direction as we need to move away from the old traditional diesel Hydraulic equipment which solely depend heavily on fossil fuels to operate. Why use old methods when new equipment is much cheaper to operate while also playing our part in creating a better environment?
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
ROCO9: Innovation is never-ending and Roco aggressively continues to invest in R&D in order to bring new Environmental and User-Friendly machines to market. Recycling old debris, buildings, roads and concrete is a must but to do this you need to have the right tools that are equally playing their part in making the world a cleaner and healthier place to live. Roco’s vision is to create crushing and screening equipment that assists the operator to work more efficiently while recycling yet keeping a very low carbon footprint.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
ROCO9: 2022 promises to be a very busy year with many new orders already in place for Roco. In a short period to date, Roco now has machines working in 16 countries and this is a number that continues to grow. Growth will be aided with the release of more highly anticipated products in 2022 and attending various exhibitions throughout the year. Roco will attend Bauma-Munich, AED- Florida and also Hillhead – UK and would love to meet you there.
Roco continue to support their marketing campaign very strongly as they have agreed a new deal with Dave Turin yet again to feature another new bigger XR rinsing screen that will be the new star of the show on the 4th season of ‘Gold Rush Dave Turin’s lost mine’ show which is due to air in Spring 2022.
Roco is keen to speak to like-minded companies that would be interested in distribution of their products as they wish to operate through a dealer network that is key and most important in supporting the customer locally. Please get in touch for further information or to arrange a meeting.
