Interview with Bastian Blaeser, Sales Manager at Rostfrei-Stahl Geisweid GmbH.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Bastian Blaeser: The components produced are cut into the shape our clients require. Primarily we receive dxf-files from which cutting-programs are generated automatically. Due to this reason. our clients can be supplied within 5-8 working days. We are keen on long term relations with partners in the oil and gas-, paper, or food industry. But there are many other branches where our material is used.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

B.B: We are very happy having installed a new bending machine by mid of 2022. We are now able to bend material up to 8mm thick and 3000mm long. This completes the service for our customers. Further we are happy to install a brand-new fiber laser in January 2023. This will also bring us a step forward in our service.

Last but not least we are operating an online shop, enabling our partners in the domestic market to calculate and order 24/7.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

B.B: In standard austenitic grades we offer plate thicknesses from 3-150mm. In special grades like duplex, super-duplex and high molybdenum alloyed material we offer up to 60mm thickness. All material is from European producers.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

B.B: Our clients are mainly under pressure on the time schedule. We try our utmost to support with high disposability, machine capacity and service. For certain applications we installed fast lanes for partners. Even special packaging, marking of the components and edi-support is possible.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

B.B: To be honest, the range of products has not really changed during the past years. What we try to do is to support our clients with an even better documentation, packaging and marking. Our goal is to reduce the work the client has on their shop floor, which is highly appreciated.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

B.B: Unless new problems and conflicts arising during the last year we look positive into the forthcoming year. We will do our job and try to stay confident all will be good in the end.
