INTERVIEW WITH SEABERY

Seabery Augmented Technology is a global tech company pioneering the development of Augmented Reality (AR) EdTech solutions applied to skills training. The company is leading the market of Augmented Reality training solutions thanks to our large worldwide network of partners within industry, institutions and education. Seabery Augmented Technology is a growing and flexible company, opened to new trends in technology, educational innovation and methodologies.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

SEABERY: We are experts in the development of Augmented Reality EdTech solutions in the field of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).

Our main product is Soldamatic Augmented Training, the first turn-key welding training solution powered with Augmented Reality (AR). We have more than 3.000 simulators in more than 50 countries worldwide.

E.E: What’s the news for 2019 about new products?

SEABERY: In 2019 we will release the newest version of Soldamatic: Soldamatic IE, the next generation in welding training. It is the best digital training solution for future, advanced and professional welders.

Soldamatic IE offers a flexible model adapted to the needs of both the education and industry markets.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

SEABERY: Soldamatic Augmented Training is the first welding training solution powered with Augmented Reality (AR) in the world. It applies new technologies like AR to enhance the learning process and uses real welding equipment to develop skills and muscle memory.

It applies gamification to improve the motivation of trainees, personalized learning to adapt to their personal needs and green & safe technology to reduce the risks for newcomers and pollution.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

SEABERY: The Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) market has not changed much for years, this is why Seabery wants to disrupt traditional methodologies by applying the latest technologies like Augmented Reality (AR).

We aim to become a reference in the educational sector, helping to change the traditional educational model to a more personalised one, through the concept of Augmented Training. This method includes AR as an added value to enhance the teaching-learning process.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

SEABERY: There is a need for qualified industrial workers worldwide, so the TVET market needs to improve the quality of their training programs. For the last years, the youngest generations have been pushed to university, while industrial companies have struggled to find the qualified workers they need.

This is why new technologies like AR and the concept of gamification are playing a key role for TVET, making vocational training more attractive for young people and also reducing the risks for newcomers.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

SEABERY: Soldamatic Augmented Training is our main product, it brings a whole new concept to welding training, providing not only AR simulation but a whole new training methodology: the Augmented Training Methodology.

The AT methodology proposes a new educational paradigm that promotes intensive practice, it is a dynamic and flexible model, which allows instructors to easily manage different courses with numerous students, regardless of their level of knowledge and/or learning pace.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2019?

SEABERY: 2019 will be a key year for Seabery and Soldamatic thanks to the Soldamatic IE release. Soldamatic IE brings a game-changing value proposal for welding training, proposing a flexible model that adapts to thve market needs.

It provides value to the Education market by attracting young people to welding and training them better, safer, faster and cheaper; and for the Industry market by improving the productivity of real welding operations on the field and reducing the failure rate in industry recertification processes.
