INTERVIEW WITH SINEF

Sinef is a service company which operates in water and energy distribution for networks and infrastructure owners. 

Interview with Pierre Papaux, Department Director Water at Sinef.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Pierre Papaux: We are active in networks and infrastructure studies, realization and operations. Our goal is to be able to manage the whole water cycle and all the activities around it.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

P.P: We don’t sell products themselves, but rather services. In that domain, the news is more about developing asset management methods but also insure a professional water distribution and treatment.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

P.P: As said, our services go from studying a technical case also considering the economical face to building water and energy infrastructures such as water capture, reservoir and distribution networks.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

P.P: On a side the market is quite mature, for the well and longtime known activities. On the other there are a lot of new activities such digitalization and asset management which are still poor developed in our sector.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

P.P: The market shows a big development potential, because the theme we manage are essentials and the coming challenges are big if we thought about drought of water, very volatile energy prices and his rarefaction.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

P.P: At the moment, I would say that digitalization is the big theme for networks and infrastructure owners. They are not always conscient about the opportunities it could provide in terms of cost reduction and operation management.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

P.P: This year will be swivel for our company. A new organization has been imagined for two years and new people came in 2022. Some changes happened and we come slowly in a new era, with more structured work organization, coordination and reporting.
