INTERVIEW WITH SPIDER

Spider is an international company that manufactures remote controlled mowers specially designed to work on steep and difficult terrains. Spider introduced the first commercial remote controlled mowers to the world market almost two decades ago.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

SPIDER: Besides production, we are busy travelling around the world supporting our distributor network with product demonstrations. Customer support is also a very important part of our daily activities as well as the development of new products.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

SPIDER: Our research and development team is constantly striving for new ideas and products. Our latest innovation is the autonomous technology implemented in our 2SGS model. We also recently launched our fully electric Cross Liner model, keeping up with the green environmentally friendly trend and demands.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

SPIDER: Our products are focused on offering commercial solutions to the various lawn care, landscaping and ground maintenance needs. All of our products are designed to work on level as well as steep terrains between 35 and 60 degrees of inclination.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

SPIDER: Our market is constantly evolving in the sense that customers demand more new technologies to cover the maintenance needs. We are expanding our development with these ideas in mind.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

SPIDER: As stated before, product automatization is a hot topic. The revolution started with all those small lawn mower robots is placing a greater demand on larger, more complex products such as ours. We are working hard to cover these demands.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

SPIDER: Spider already set new standards when we introduced commercial remote controlled lawn mowers more than a decade ago. With the launching of the latest autonomous solution, I believe we are at the forefront of a new generation setting new standards once again.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

SPIDER: So far, our expectations have been exceeded. The combination of the COVID pandemic with supply chain issues along with dry weather around several parts of the world, painted a grim picture but in spite of this, our sales numbers have constantly increased. 2022 so far is on record pace with sales.
