System TM is a full solution, leading global supplier of customized solutions to the solid wood industry with more than 40 years of experience and more than 300 running lines worldwide. Established in 1977 by Poul Thøgersen, System TM has remained a Danish family-owned company up until it was acquired by HOMAG in November 2020.
System TM is headquartered in Odder, Denmark, and consists of administration offices, production facilities and assembly facilities. The company has approx. 140 employees in a strong team. System TM is an international company with export sales of 95%. E.E: What’s the news for 2021 about new products?
SYSTEM TM: In October 2020, we launched our new flexible stacking machine, the Opti-Stack 9000. It is a product of the solid wood industry’s need for more material handling automation witch always has been a very, important product segment to System TM. The new Opti-Stack 9000 matches our existing product portfolio and is very easy to combine with other machines from System TM. The stacking machine is capable of stacking very long or multiple workpieces and stacking in many different stacking patterns.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
SYSTEM TM: System TM’s product portfolio consists of the following:
Opti-Feed – Automatic feeding systems that feed workpieces ranging from very small to very large dimensions at a capacity of up to 200 workpieces per minute.
Opti-Kap – The Opti-Kap optimizing cross-cut saw provides maximum utilization of wood and staff resources. Opti-Kap performs with high production capacity, cut accuracy and speed.
Opti-Stack Automatic stacking systems that stack workpieces ranging from very small to very large dimensions at a capacity of up to 150 workpieces or 10 layers per minute.
Opti-Joint The Opti-Joint finger jointer provides maximum precision, jointing quality and performance. The Opti-Joint finger jointer optimizes staff and wood resources using its intelligent control system.
Opti-Solution Opti-Solution is a combination of one or more products from System TM’s product portfolio, as well as trading products from external suppliers and partners. These products are integrated into one complete production line.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
During the last few years CLT business have become very important for the solid wood industry and System TM is already an established player in this business area either being a sub or the turnkey supplier of a line. Thanks to the new Solid Wood Processing business unit consisting of System TM, Kallesoe Machinery, Weinmann and HOMAG we are well equipped to enjoy the strong growth in the solid wood sector.
As the market becomes more and more aware of sustainability, wood as a building material is a rapidly growing resource. Building with wood is climate friendly as it binds CO2.
