TACTON: Tacton’s sales automation tools enable smooth and resilient end-to-end operations for manufacturers, while delivering a flawless and responsive customer experience when selling complex capital equipment and adjacent services. Our customers operate in a wide range of industries such as Industrial Machinery, Heavy Vehicles, Power generation and distribution, Elevators & Escalators, Food & Beverage processing industry, Gas & Fluids control and processing and Medtech. Tacton offers both products and associated services, either directly or through our extensive network of implementation service partners. Based on the measured value on our customer base, a Tacton customer typically experience 34% efficiency increase, 30% sales volume increase and 20% increase in profit.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

TACTON: Currently, our R&D department is focusing on improving our product modeling tools, as well as integrations with ERP and PLM systems so that Tacton sales configurator runs with the right product and pricing master data from surrounding enterprise systems. 

E.E: What are the ranges of products? 

TACTON: Tacton offers 2 products. 

1. Tacton CPQ (Configure-Price-Quote) empowers sales reps, resellers and even end-customers to configure complex B2B industrial equipment – without errors. Our constraints-based configuration technology, translates customer needs into a 100% valid and buildable solution. Instant pricing and visualization after every configurator selection make the buying process easy and transparent. With needs-based configuration, the customer dialogue can focus on business value rather than technical solutions. One-click generation of accurate quote documents increases sales efficiency and quality.

2. Tacton Design Automation provides constraint-based and parametric engineer-to-order automation inside SolidWorks, PTC Creo and Autodesk Inventor. With needs-driven design, CAD engineers can quickly configure designs of complex products – including feedback on incompatible choices – and automatically generate complete 2D drawings, 3D models and quote documents. The configurator-powered Tacton Design Automation will always propose a solution that’s not just buildable, but optimal for the customer’s unique requirements. 

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

TACTON: Configure-Price-Quote (CPQ) software has been around for about 10 years now and the market I growing 10-15% every year. In 2020 the CPQ market was estimated to around $1.44 billion. Right now, the CPQ market is undergoing rapid transformation with mergers and acquisitions. 

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends? 

TACTON: Manufacturers are dealing with the following trends: Delivering a fast and flawless customer experience, creating smooth disruption proof end-to-end operations, managing complexity, and sustainability. As a Configure-Price-Quote vendor, Tacton needs to be able to respond to those challenges and offer product capabilities that can help our customers address them. Right now, we focus on how Tacton’s CPQ solution can help manufacturers sell more optimized, efficient and sustainable equipment. 

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed? 

TACTON: We are particularly proud of Tacton’s product configuration engine, which sits at the core of our offering, capable of defining millions of valid product variants with minimal product maintenance. Together with our pricing engine and product visualization, this best-of-bred and SaaS-enabled sales tools, creates deep value to our complex manufacturing customers. 

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

TACTON: With our strong foothold in the Nordics and rest of Europe, we are now building real momentum in North America with over 40 employees in our Chicago office. Then, of course, sustainability will be a core focus in 2022. As we are already in discussions with our customers, it will be exciting to see how our Tacton CPQ capabilities and services will help them achieve their sustainability goals.
