Interview with Nils Roggentin, Marketing Manager at TAMPOPRINT.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Nils Roggentin: TAMPOPRINT is a company that has been providing support for customer applications worldwide for decades through in-house developments in the field of pad printing and laser marking. The definition of the company’s mission is “100 % process ownership”.
We think of ourselves as a “one-stop shop” for all customers who need a partner who takes care of their needs from the very beginning. Our strength lies in the Turn-Key-Solution, be it the entry level machine in the manual sector or the fully automatic high-tech solution. We accompany our customers the product life cycle and beyond. Driven by our mission, we not only take care of the machine, TAMPOPRINT offers consumables developed at our own production facilities as well as through selected suppliers, we offer our customers the whole consumables section.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
N.R: Standard pad printing machines and pad printing automations:
Our reliable, uncomplicated and efficient standard pad printing machines for classic pad printing are suitable for numerous tasks in industry. The standardization of our machines has numerous advantages for our customers. We offer our customers complex, semi- and fully automated industrial marking systems for large quantities and high cycle rates. These include the MAP modular system (Modular Automation Platform) or the CLOSURE PRINT COMPACT and ROTOPRINT rotary automations. In applications where production flexibility and user-friendliness are particularly important, our semi-automatic systems of the MODULE ONE Series score highly.
Print-laser automations:
Our industrial marking systems, which combine pad printing and laser technology, enable special solutions in pad printing that are perfectly matched to the requirement. The combined systems offer versatile application possibilities for printing on the smallest areas, combined with individual laser engraving.
Laser automations:
Our laser marking machines are the solution for serial individualization! Thanks to laser marking machines, such as the MOF series, a wide variety of components can be labeled with individual promotion codes, a multitude of decorations or serial numbers.
EDM – Encoder Driven Marking
The Encoder Driven Marking laser process is based on the proven MOF “mark on the fly” technology and is additionally paired with a rotational function. A significant advantage of this process is the ability to create large seamless laser images while the laser source remains in its fixed location.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
N.R: Society is placing more and more importance on sustainable and considerate handling of resources. A very good approach, which we are happy to follow. Based on decades of know-how, our innovative products are designed for maximum durability and economy. GS and EC standards are proof of quality and safety. An energy-efficient and resource-saving portfolio is just as important to us as the sustainable optimization of TAMPOPRINT production facilities in the long term through the expansion of renewable and recyclable raw materials.
The counterfeiting industry is becoming more and more professional. To protect business and consumers, more anti-counterfeit packaging needs to be developed. TAMPOPRINT is offering several options such as high-speed laser marking systems to protect the products.
The reduction in weight of plastic packaging material and the use of easily recyclable materials in the beverage packaging industry pose new challenges.
In general, materials and product properties are optimized. This is facing TAMPOPRINT’s customers with new challenge.
In order to be able to guarantee the printing of such materials with new properties, TAMPOPRINT offers a special service.
By means of a feasibility check, our application technology department works out the best possible approach for your marking process after a thorough, detailed analysis of the task at hand.
In order to verify the process sequences and to realize an introduction phase of a series production, a so-called pilot series, we offer the possibility to produce the pilot series by our experienced application technology department or to outsource marking and labeling processes.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
N.R: Since the outbreak of war in Ukraine, the entire economy has been acting more cautiously and investments have been questioned, delayed or even postponed. Economic conditions are currently being reorganized and restructured. So, we expect Europe’s high-tech industries and their restrained activism to change again in the near future and to strongly increase. The demand of stopped or new investments as well as maintenance will take off.
