INTERVIEW WITH TESLA GROUP

TESLA Group is original TESLA that was established in 50’s in former Czechoslovakia as vertically integrated electronics manufacturer. Today, they are manufacturing battery energy storage systems and power equipment for renewable energy generation. But that is just their manufacturing division. In TESLA Group, they also have EPC company constructing hybrid renewables projects with fully integrated storage and management of energy and also company aggregating flexibility on power generation a power consumption side.

Interview with Dušan Lichardus, Chairman of the Board TESLA Group.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Dušan Lichardus: We are building hybrid renewable projects for commercial and industrial clients, like manufactures, large office buildings, industrial, logistics or retail parks. These clients can take most of the benefits from our fully integrated solutions – like savings on electricity costs and improved power quality.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

D.L: Our latest product is plug and operate battery energy storage TERRA with 150kWh capacity designed for commercial rooftop PV installations from 200- 700kWp, or support of EV charging stations. This energy storage has built-in integrated energy management software, interface for connection with PV and pre-parametrized power optimization features. Integration is very easy as TERRA is outdoor product, so you don’t require to have any indoor facility where to place it.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

D.L: TERRA is offered in one storage capacity of 150kWh, but two power output configuration (50 or 93kW) and three colors (signature blue, pure white, porsche gray)

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

D.L: Market of commercial buildings solar is far less developed as residential solar today, so from our point of view in very initial stage, but at the same time very dynamically growing.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

D.L: We will see more and more commercial buildings equipped with PV installation and companies interested on having large portion of their electricity green and cheaper.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?

D.L: Hybrid solar – what is PV+ storage+ energy management is definitely going to be most commercially developed and sustainable technology for coming years.
