INTERVIEW WITH TESTXCHANGE

testxchange is an online platform for the “Testing, Inspection & Certification” (TIC) industry. It brings together industrial testing laboratories and companies in need of laboratory testing, e.g. physical testing of automotive components, chemical testing of textiles or microbiological testing of medical devices.

Using the platform, companies can identify which tests they need for their products and find a solution to get this testing done. Moreover, they can manage the testing project digitally using the testxchange platform. Testing services providers, on the other hand, can win new clients via the platform, communicate with them digitally, and market themselves online in the testxchange lab database.

Interview with Dr. Malte Zur, CEO of testxchange.

Easy Engineering: What’s the news about new products?

Malte Zur: The testxchange platform is constantly evolving, as new functionalities are being added. One of them is the new “Assistant for Certification & Testing” (ACT), which is currently in beta stage. It allows users to identify testing requirements for a growing number of products, and to select suitable testing providers for those right away, with just a few clicks.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

M.Z: The TIC market is a global multi-billion dollar market and has been around for many decades. It is so big because almost every product that consumers or companies can buy, almost every material or component that is used to build something, and many more objects need to be tested in some way.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

M.Z: Products are becoming increasingly complex, with e.g. more wireless functionality being added to a growing number of products. Also, new standards and regulations are being published every year, all of which usually leads to additional testing requirements. Thus, the demand for testing providers increases as well, which can be found using testxchange.
