INTERVIEW WITH TRIME

Trime is a company specialized in design, manufacturing and worldwide sales and support of lighting tower solutions. The company has 2 branches one in UK and another one in The Netherlands- and independent distributors in 34 countries worldwide, on all continents.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Trime: The main area of activity of Trime is in the lighting towers sector. We internally develop and manufacture a wide range of lighting tower solutions to cover the needs in a variety of applications ranging from the construction sector, to events, mining, civil defense and military. Our main focus are the rental companies, but we do serve also some end users.

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

Trime: The new products we will be focusing on the most this year are the X-TS, a solar-hybrid, static lighting tower and the new X-Eco hybrid, a mobile hybrid machine powered by lithium batteries.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

Trime: We have quite a broad range of machines in order to cover every need: mobile and static units; diesel, hybrid, battery, sun or mains powered; with manual or hydraulic lifting of the mast. We can also group the machines by the application where we have a „Green line” which focuses on environmental friendliness and sustainability and a line of products that focus on the events market, for example.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

Trime: Our products are mostly active among the rental companies that serve the construction and events sector. During this time of crisis, the activities vary depending of the situation of the Country we consider. Generally speaking, the units are being used also during this time on sites where night lighting is required.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

Trime: The market trends in the lighting tower sector are mainly relative to the environmental friendliness of the machines and fuel consumption optimization.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

Trime: The environmental friendliness has in fact been the driver for the development of a range of lighting solutions that are hybrid powered by using a battery pack (AGM or lithium technology) and a small diesel engine. We also have a product that combines a solar panel array with batteries and a diesel engine as well. The lithium technology seems to be very interesting as we were able to achieve a 10 hours running time and only 2 hours of engine running to recharge them. This means that the 80% of the time the machine works emissions free (both Co2 and noise).

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

Trime: Given the actual situation with the Covid-19 pandemic and the constantly evolving situation around it, it is really difficult to make estimations right now. For sure the year will be difficult and uncertain and we will have to see how the global situation and response will evolve in the next months in order to be able to make an analysis.
