Most Wirutex products are GREEN, a special shade of green, to signify excellence.
This colour has become synonymous with Wirutex’s tools, a green that is recognised across the world. The tools are certified according to EN 847-1 Norm. The company is also certified for braze-welding procedures by the Italian Institute of Welding. The company’s focus on working closely with customers, exchanging information and expertise, has led to Wirutex being selected as a key technical partner by a number of industry-leading companies. Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
WIRUTEX: Company’s Focus is the manufacturing of pcd tools and carbide tools. We also offer sharpening and re-plating services. Our technical team can accurately assess the state of the tool and identify the most appropriate action, in order to assure that the maximum efficiency is maintained.
Moreover, over the years Wirutex has perfected the development of custom tools, an high added value to respond to the varying demands on the market.
E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?
WIRUTEX: 2020 has been a difficult year due to the Covid pandemic, however Wirutex did not stop its creativity and, despite everything, came out on the market with new products for different applications:
- Corner rounding;
- Revolver Unit, the pcd cutter for edge chamfering and radiusing.
Contouring, sectioning and nesting:
- Advanced, cutter with whole tips, specifically designed for machining operations in Advanced Materials.
- NEW-Mini Z2+2, shank type cutters for CNC with pcd tips and body in solid tungsten carbide.
Drilling:
W-DrillCut, boring bit for blind holes, long durability and high quality finishing.
Particularly indicated where the hole approaches the lower part of the covering.
E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?
WIRUTEX: Wirutex is first and foremost a manufacturer of diamond and carbide tools for woodworking machines of all Brands.
The complete range of tools traded includes router bits and chucks, boring bits, circular saw blades, cutters for edgebanding machines and hoggers.
Over the last 15 years, Wirutex has established a strong collaboration with BIESSE (world leader in the production of woodworking machines).
This collaboration turned into an Official Partnership, with Wirutex beginning to produce tools specifically designed for Biesse machines.
Wirutex currently manufactures original spare tools for Biesse edgebanding machines and squaring/edgebanding machines, CNC machining centres and Biesse Selco panel sizing centres. For each type of machine, Wirutex has developed catalogues of original spare part tools designed to make the choice of tool simpler and more intuitive.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
WIRUTEX: The market of tools for wood requires more and more competitive prices, sometimes to the detriment of quality.
During its 40 years of activity, Wirutex has positioned itself in a high-level market sector, it has preferred to invest in quality, innovative and unique control systems, development of the management system and software and every year investiments in new machineries.
All this to ensure safety, high performance and advanced technology to its Customers.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
WIRUTEX: According to our experience, the market tends to experiment with different materials from those used in the past. We are talking about the new generation of advanced materials, more resistant and at the same time practical materials that differ from the materials used so far to produce furniture in general.
Composite wood panels and decorative surfacing have completely changed the approach to planning and design, opening up new horizons for both the construction and the furniture industries.
Wirutex has developed significant first-hand experience with composite wood panels, from stratified panels to the more recent additions, such as panels with decorative films. On the basis of this experience, Wirutex tools have been adapted to the “structural” changes that have been made to these products.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
WIRUTEX: Our experience in the field of edgebanding has brought us to study solutions for our Customers to achieve excellent finishing results and increase the productivity.
To this end, we have introduced two types of innovative cutters to the market:
SMART Pit Stop System is an adjustable pre-milling cutter conceived by Wirutex. A flexible tool designed to optimise the performance of the flexible squaring-edgebanding lines. Easy to assemble and extremely simple to adjust, SMART Pit Stop System can machine panels of various heights and materials thanks to the independent adjustment of the upper and lower parts.
Gladio is a high performance pre-milling cutter, created to support the flexibility of Batch1 production, guaranteeing the highest quality for cutting and finishing.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?
WIRUTEX: Due to the Covid pandemic in 2020 we have not met the expected targets, however, in the last 5 months the trend has been positive and we want to be confident that in 2020 it will continue like this.
However, we are currently unable to make sales forecasts for the new year.
