Due to this even 2020 our business was very successful.
E.E: What new products / service will be launched this year?
KASIGLAS:
- More functions in composite screens
- More safety in combination with more comfort for drivers and operators
- Smart heating and smart dimming systems
- Our clients can let us know about needed features in the composite screens and we will find a solution.
E.E: How did the market change in the last year?
KASIGLAS: In general, our product range in the market for forestry as well as for construction equipment stayed on a constant level. Due to the pandemic situation, some niche products were added to our portfolio e.g. infection protection screens for bus drivers in busses.
Also, a new market will be open up for us: communal matters such as glazings for municipal vehicles, bus stops and municipal buildings.
E.E: What are the best-selling products of 2020?
KASIGLAS: The best-selling products are:
- Shock- and impact-resistant glazing for all emergency vehicles, in particular for all police vehicles;
- Bodywork puncture protection systems based on body cavity protection;
- Protective signs, helmet visors and screen modules, and egress hatches in high-security sectors;
- Extreme protection for cabin glazing of forestry and construction machinery;
- Heatable glazing;
- Partition walls;
- Switchable screens;
- Complex shapings for helicopters;
- Lamp covers;
- Outsized mirrors.

KRD Coatings GmbH operates at the cutting edge of technology and turns transparent plastic into high-tech glazing. We invest in the development of new formulae at our coating development laboratory. This results in high-quality coatings with special properties such as scratch and abrasion resistance or UV protection coupled with a long service life.
KRD Engineering & Service GmbH rounds off the KRD Group’s portfolio with additional products and services. It provides everything needed for the maintenance, care and processing of KASIGLAS® products. KRD Engineering & Service GmbH additionally organizes installation training or handles installation work for you.
KRD Luftfahrttechnik GmbH represents the Group’s concentrated expertise in the area of materials for intelligent lightweight construction. This is something which is both necessary and a challenge in the field of aeronautical engineering – in particular when what’s needed is top-class transparency.
E.E: What sector of business do you think is expected to grow this year?
KASIGLAS: KRD is active in different stages in the market. Numerous industries markets, police, forestry, construction, helicopters and a lot of other markets are our business fields. We operate as a worldwide supplier and also for aftermarkets and niche markets.
The market trend will go more and more to complex glazings incl. special functions and more safety for the people behind the screens.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2021
KASIGLAS: High-tech quality products e.g. switchable screens, smart heating systems, complex shaped glazings are just some of the most wanted products of our clients. KASIGLAS® will go on and on to develop the technology for processing transparent plastic into high-tech glazings, to complete a highly innovative production line and clean room for all composite screens and to expand the product range – always true to our credo: CLEAR SAFETY.
