Landport Batteries, founded in 1993, is a trading company with 30 years of experience. 30 years of experience in the import and distribution of batteries with approximately 1.5 million sales in batteries annually. The company believes in lifelong relationships with clients. Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Davie Klein: We offer an extensive range of batteries and battery chargers for various motorcycle, automotive and industrial applications such as motorcycles, scooters, cars, trucks, leisure/ marine, lawn mowers and mobility scooters. Our assortment contains starter batteries, start-stop batteries, semi-traction batteries, deep cycle batteries and industrial (VRLA) batteries with different technologies including calcium-calcium, EFB, AGM, gel and lithium. Besides our batteries, with Landport Energy, we offer energy solutions for residential, businesses and industrial. Also, we have a strategic partnership with Toyota & EODev for the distribution of hydrogen generators.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
D.K: For many years, our brand LP has been recommended by powersport professionals and businesses. Known for its reliable batteries and extensive range, we have introduced a refreshed lineup of Powersport Batteries that will launch at the EICMA trade fair in Milan. This new generation of Powersport batteries offers an even wider array of technologies, including an updated GEL line with Nano technology and 6-volt SLA batteries.
Furthermore, we offer high-end lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries from Braille Battery. Boasting over two decades of experience, Braille is a globally recognized market leader in delivering the best starting solutions for all facets of the Motorsport and Tuning industries.
Braille Battery, has an impressive track record with championship wins in some of the most prestigious racing series around the world. From F1 to Nascar, IndyCar to Le Mans, DTM to World Rallycross and WRC, Braille Batteries have proven themselves as the go-to choice for elite motorsport and tuning enthusiasts.
As mentioned before, we continue to innovate in the field of energy storage. With Landport Energy, our new business division, we are focusing on energy storage solutions, ranging from homes to wind turbines. Additionally, we have a strategic partnership with Toyota & EODev for the Dutch distribution of hydrogen generators.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
D.K: Batteries and chargers for motorcycle, car, truck, marine & leisure, industrial and lawn mower.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
D.K: The demand for lithium-ion batteries has been increasing since the upcoming rise of electric vehicles. However, there is still a huge demand for other technologies, such as the more conventional lead-acid batteries or AGM and GEL technology. Although, li-ion batteries have a longer lifespan and greater capacity, they can be difficult to recycle. Li-ion batteries are complex and contain a wide range of materials. Battery recycling currently focuses heavily on the recovery of aluminum, copper, nickel, and cobalt. While these materials can also be reclaimed from li-ion batteries, it is a more challenging and consequently costlier process. Lithium cannot be recovered using this technique.
We believe that, with our extensive offering of products and technologies we can serve the market and deliver batteries that meet the highest safety standards, precisely when the customer needs them.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
D.K: I would say our new high-end lithium-ion (Li-ion) batteries from Braille Battery. These batteries provide exceptional starting power and offer significant weight savings compared to traditional lead-acid battery technologies. They even last 3 to 5 times longer than lead-acid batteries (AGM), making them a smart investment for any racing team or high-performance enthusiast.
Furthermore, we are engaged in conducting our own analyses and collaborating with external parties to determine how we can present our batteries in combination with the right charger in order to achieve optimal performance.
Next tot that, we are planning to offer portable power stations in the near future. These are portable batteries that are ideal for professionals who need on-site power for their equipment. They can also be used in combination with portable solar panels, for instance, while camping.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?
D.K: When we look at the future, we envision a world where the availability of genuine care is as natural as the availability of products, materials, and technology. We aim to provide risk-free and earning certainty to our customers, partners, and ourselves. We achieve this by establishing sincere, sustainable, and international partnerships.
