Interview with Eng. Matteo Francesco Maggioni, Marketing & Export Manager at Laurameroni Design Collection.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Matteo Francesco Maggioni: Laurameroni produces handcrafted furnishings, wall panels, doors, wardrobes and lamps for architects, planners and interior designers engaged in high-end public and private projects. We specialize in the creation of custom-made furniture and in the development and use of unusual and innovative materials, finishes and textures.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

M.F.M: Laurameroni Design Collection is always looking for new solutions to offer our customers exclusive and always current products, studying and planning new creative designs and surface treatments.

Every year we present new products to meet all our customers’ needs and give maximum expressive freedom to the creativity of our designers, developing new ranges of amazing luxury finishes, textures and designs.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

M.F.M: Laurameroni production is divided into two main directions: Architecture and Art & Design. Architecture includes an exclusive range of boiserie panels, doors, wardrobes, day and night systems and a kitchen. Art and Design, on the other hand, includes a large collection of freestanding furniture, sofas, poufs and armchairs, limited edition artistic sideboards and a collection of lamps.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

M.F.M: The high-end furniture market is a mature market in constant search of innovations and of particular, unique, tailor-made products. The market is evolving, approaching countries such as the United Arab Emirates and India which, due to westernization and high purchasing possibilities, are increasingly interested in the use of high-end, custom-made furniture solutions.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

M.F.M: In the last years we noticed a growing appreciation for artisanal and handcrafted details, chosen to add character and uniqueness to homes.

Also, the importance of adaptability cannot be overstated: multifunctional, made-to-measure and customized furniture and spaces are becoming increasingly desirable.

The interior design landscape of the future is shaping up to be technological, exciting and diverse, with trends reflecting homeowners’ evolving tastes, needs and values, and our made-to-measure and highly customizable furniture is designed to perfectly meet these needs.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

M.F.M: If I have to choose a specific product, I will mention Decor Acoustic. It is a wooden or textile wall claddings and doors project with acoustic performances designed by Bartoli Design and engineered by Exhibo. The engineered layers of materials, including the Decor surfaces in carved wood, are designed to provide optimal acoustic comfort and integrated with a hidden speaker system for piped music.

Of course, some of our best innovations can be found in our “Surface Design”: Liquid Metals, Special Finishes and Fossil woods are just a few examples of our wide range of exclusive, artisanal and at the same time innovative materials.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?

M.F.M: Our eyes are already turned to 2024: to participation in the Salone del Mobile and small niche fairs in the sector, to the creation of new products and to the experimentation of new surfaces and furnishing solutions.
