Interview with Antonia Price, Head of Marketing Europe at LGH.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Antonia Price: LGH offers comprehensive services to businesses operating in a multitude of industries. From sole traders to major conglomerates, we cater to a diverse range of customers across various sectors including construction, energy, petrochemicals, pharmaceuticals, marine, transportation, offshore, water, nuclear, mechanical, electrical, and infrastructure.

Our expertise in each market segment has been honed through decades of experience and exposure to the unique challenges and demands of each industry. With our extensive knowledge and resources, we are committed to delivering exceptional service and tailored solutions that align with the specific needs of our clients.

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

A.P: Over the past few months, we have made significant investments in our equipment fleet all across Europe. We have acquired several Multi-Lugs (also known as multiple-point beams), a large order of high-tonnage JDN Air Chain Hoists, and a significant number of Kito Electric Chain Hoists. Our investments are aimed at keeping our fleet ahead of the market, offering the highest quality, safest, and most innovative equipment that meets the evolving needs of our customers, and the growing demand for advanced lifting solutions.

Our mission is to support customers across the globe with the safest and most reliable lifting and rigging gear, through continuous investment in our people, our equipment and our IT systems – we’re committed to doing just that.

E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?

A.P: With over 30,000 pieces, LGH holds the most comprehensive inventory of hoisting, rigging, jacking, pulling, material handling, and safety equipment to rent. From a simple toe jack for manual handling to sophisticated spreader beams for larger loads, we offer the widest range of lifting equipment on the market.

We pride ourselves on our prompt availability and swift delivery, ensuring that our customers have timely access to the equipment they need. With our unwavering commitment to quality and safety, LGH sets the industry standard in lifting equipment.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

A.P: The current market trend indicates a growing preference among consumers to rent equipment instead of purchasing it. This shift in attitude can be attributed to the marked inflation in purchase prices of equipment and a heightened awareness of sustainability.

This trend is further supported by the rental industry’s increased focus on digitalization, diversification of services beyond traditional construction sectors, investment in sustainable projects, and the support of EU’s Recovery and Resilience Fund in infrastructure development.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

A.P: LGH maintains a steadfast commitment to investing in the latest and most innovative equipment to offer flexible solutions to our customers. Our extensive inventory ensures that our customers are provided with the equipment that best suits their project needs. As new sectors emerge, and applications diversify, we remain vigilant in our efforts to stay ahead of the curve.

Among our most innovative and reliable products is the L20 Lifting Yoke, manufactured by Ganterud. LGH was the first rental company within our areas of operation to offer this product, which is tailored to the modular building and pre-fabricated markets. The yoke leverages both new and well-established technologies to level loads up to 20 tonnes effectively and safety. With the press of a button, the yoke quickly and safely levels lifted objects, boosting productivity rates by up to 30% and reducing both crane and waiting times. This, in turn, ensures efficiency and safety without compromising on quality.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?

A.P: The Group is aiming for strong and sustainable growth in 2024 and beyond, through a series of strategic activities that are planned over the upcoming months, along with the strengthening of partner relationships. Our business setup is characterized by its high degree of flexibility and adaptability, which enables us to position ourselves where our customers require our services the most. This may include venturing into new sectors, offering more sustainable solutions, investing in advanced equipment, or enhancing our technology to improve both the customer experience and our service offerings.
