Maggiolini Lame is manufacturing shear knives, press brake tools and linear motion guideways since 1952 in Italy. During these decades the company could work with all the biggest companies in Italy and Europe Machine manufacturers and users. All mechanic machinings, heat treatments (induction hardening and through hardening) till 6 meters length included, are executed in their workshop in Bresso,Milan, Italy.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Industrial knives on draw, mainly metal sheets working tools but we realize knives also for plastic, paper and wooden markets.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
We are the first tool manufacturing factory who is able to manufacture tool with wire electro erosion till a length of 500mm. This skill made us able to project and manufacture tools with shapes that were no possible to realize with other technologies. So, we could create 3 new products for press brake that are actually on patent pending status: SIMPLY bend tool, CAP TOOLS and VARY ANGLE.
Of course, we are projecting and testing other new tools to present next year.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
Range of products is mainly big long hardened and ground components as: industrial knives on draw, shear knives, standard and special press brake tools, wear plates, linear motion guideways, punching tools and circular knives
E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
This year is going to be closed with an increment of sales than last year but the most of it was on first semester. Than the second semester, probably due to the unsure international situation, the market seems to be slower and looking more to the next year than the end of this.
By now next year 2024 is forecasting to be a big increase as lot of orders were already placed for half of the next year.
New Italian government is working very nice and results are already coming!
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
Italian actual trend is about a growing economy supported by useful internal politics, opposite of the last 10 years that indicates a real change of development and economics, finally a growing trend!
About products we are lucky as our new patented products are taking good place in the market.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
Our latest patent pending products for press brake:
- SIMPLY bend tool is a matrix with tilting components and a pushing element. This matrix is able to bend shorter bords than usual standard single matrixes, reduce or eliminate marks on metal sheets, doesn’t stretch or deform holes and oblongs close or on the bending line.
The cost is much less of all the other similar competitors, more bending possibilities, till 30°, very easy maintenance place our SIMPLY at first place against competitors.
- CAP TOOLS: these tools are the evolution of the classic rollers matrixes. So, they have all the same advantages of classic Roller die: not stretching, reduction of scratches, reduction of required bending force…
They named CAP because they are used as CAP to be placed above the standard single V die transform them into a rolls die. Awesome is the fact that can be used also old or weared single V matrixes giving them new life.
Thanks to the manufacturing with wire eletro erosion we could realize a closed roll’s site shape so the rolls can me removed just by side, voiding possibility of running out during bending process.
- VARY ANGLE is special matrix with rolls that can be change the V opening and the angle of its quarry. Just tight or untight a screw the quarry can be managed mm per mm
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?
The rest of 2023 seems to be a bit low, maybe due to the international unsafe situation or because the first semester was unusual full of work. Anyway this 2023 was a good year with a very good look to the future!
