MARCELISSEN – CONTINUOUSLY INNOVATIVE, CONSTANTLY RELIABLE!

Marcelissen is a manufacturer of food-processing machinery from the Netherlands. In the product range, the company has almost all options of machines for the processing of food from the moment it leaves the acre to the moment it is being packed.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and activities.

Marcelissen: Meaning we are able to clean, peel, sort, cut and transport the products. We mainly focus on the processing of potatoes (French fries), carrots (baby carrots) and root vegetables. We manufacture the machines in as stand alone, but also as a whole production line.

We are a family-owned business with over 70 years of experience. That family feeling is something we are very proud of. We care for each other, for others and for our environment. Building food processing machines is a top-class sport, and that is the mentality with which we approach our work every day.

Entrepreneurship runs in our genes, and this passion can be seen in all layers of the company. We are the knowledge leader in the field of food processing machinery, and we like to share our knowledge with the world.

E.E: Which are the most futuristic products / solutions from your portfolio?

Marcelissen: All of our products/solutions are very futuristic and have the most modern and up-to-date functions. Examples of these are our Slitmasters (cutting machine)Sliver Removers or the Hydro Cutting Machine. But we are the proudest of our Optical Sorting Machine. This machine is specially developed for the optical grading of peeled and unpeeled potatoes on defects, colour, size, shape and waste. This machine consists of a dosing unit, a roller belt, a camera unit and an ejection zone with exits. Due to the hygienic design and positioning of the cameras inside the machine, the product can be inspected 360 degrees without lens contamination occurring in the camera zone.

An innovative aspect of our Optical Sorter is the fact that it extends both good and bad product by means of flippers or air and allows product that needs to be peeled again to run straight through. This way of working means that no bad product can end up in the good product stream.

We have a wide range of happy customers that owns this optical sorting machine. In case someone is more interested in the machine, take a look at our website or pose your questions in an email. We are always happy to answer all of your questions.

Marcelissen: The future of the food-processing industry will change a lot. Companies will look more into sustainability and will also have to keep up with the digital transformation that will advance every day. Looking at sustainability, the resources such as water, energy & waste usage of the processes have to be optimized and reduced as possible. This will be a huge challenge to reduce the resources as much and at the same time keep the quality of the machine. But our R&D department is very eager and has enough experience to tackle this challenge.

The digital transformation will also be very exciting for us. Seeing the transformation of our machines in the last 70 years is very special. Thus, we are very excited to know how our R&D department will improve the machinery to keep the best digital level of our machinery as possible.
