MINIB is a premier European manufacturer of convectors and chilled beams, exporting to over 50 countries in Europe, Asia and America. The company is a reliable supplier with over 25 years of experience.
Interview with Monika Nováková, CEO of MINIB, a.s..
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Monika Nováková: The product portfolio includes more than 70 types of convectors and chilled beams suitable for HEATING, COOLING and VENTILATION. We offer effective, innovative, ecological and aesthetically pleasing units designed for both dry and wet environments. Our convectors are specifically designed to work in combination with ecological low-heat heat sources as heat pumps. We excel in providing flexible solutions for non-typical customer needs.
E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?
M.N: We have recently launched our 2 new product lines. HT line trench heaters that offer minimal dimensions with very high performance. With a height of just 9 cm and widths of 18 cm or 22 cm, the heating performance is extremely high – up to 2163 W/m (with a temperature gradient of 75/65°C). It’s the ideal choice when you need maximum thermal comfort without sacrificing space in your interior. Even with these excellent parameters, the HT trench heater doesn’t exceed the typical background noise level. During regular operation, the acoustic pressure of a 3-meter long trench heater is only 27dB, and for a one-meter unit, it’s an incredible 22.6dB! Our second novelty is NC – Wall-mounted convector with a cooling option, that provides excellent performance at a heating water temperature of just 35°C, delivering heating output up to 4600 W/m and cooling output up to 1370 W/m – and saving you up to half of the heating production costs compared to radiators – ideal for easy retrofit application.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
M.N: Our 70+ product portfolio caters to Trench heaters, Free-standing convectors, Wall-mounted convectors, Ceiling convectors, Special convectors and Chilled beams.
E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
M.N: We supply our products not just in Czech Republic but throughout whole Europe, Asia, America, and to Australia. Thus, we welcome increased interest in our products, which are not only efficient but also ecological and economical.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
M.N: Firstly, there’s a notable emphasis on energy efficiency, driving demand for models incorporating advanced technologies to conserve energy. Additionally, the integration of smart features, such as compatibility with home automation systems, is becoming increasingly desirable for remote control and optimization of heating. Customization options in terms of design and finish are gaining traction, allowing consumers to seamlessly integrate convectors with various interior aesthetics. Sustainability is another key trend, with consumers favoring eco-friendly materials and renewable energy sources. Compact, low-profile designs are sought after for their space-saving attributes, while simplified installation and maintenance procedures are increasingly valued. Noise reduction features are also gaining importance for ensuring a quiet living or working environment. The entire market is moving towards low-temperature heating, and our products are, of course, ready for it.
E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
M.N: As mentioned above, in 2024, we introduced two new product lines – the HT floor convector series, which is highly efficient and almost invisible due to its compact dimensions with a height of only 9cm, and the NC wall-mounted convector, which is ideal as a replacement for radiators when heating with a heat pump. Currently, there’s a notable surge in interest in heating systems powered by heat pumps, and we are convinced that convectores are the most economical heating solution to a heat pump. With their easy retrofit application, you can seamlessly replace old radiators with convectors. Moreover, convectors offer both heating in winter and cooling in summer, making them incredibly versatile. Heat pumps operate at low temperatures, and convectors complement this technology perfectly. Their efficient performance at low temperatures – just around 35°C ensures that heat pumps operate optimally, resulting in significant energy savings and environmental benefits.
Consequently, this reduces heating costs by up to 50% compared to the heat pump-radiator setup.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?
M.N: We are looking forward to revitalizing the real estate market and thus increasing orders for our products across Europe, Asia, and the USA. Additionally, on all markets, we observe a greater demand for tailored heating solutions to meet customers’ requirements – as the majority of our products are manufactured in-house, we are able to meet these demands with above-average flexibility and very competitively priced.
