mPower is an innovative tech company based in Szczecin. The company was established by experienced staff with recognized scientific achievements, all coming from the research community of the West Pomeranian University of Technology in Szczecin.
Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.
mPower was found in 2019 by experienced scientific staff from the field of electrical engineering, power electronics and microprocessor control. Our mission is to support our customers during the design, construction and integration of electric and hydrogen – based drivetrains. We design and build drive systems that are precisely fitted to the needs of different applications. We offer power electronic solutions based on silicon-carbide semiconductors and our own designs in fields of electric machines and hydrogen – based energy sources. Experienced engineers and designers, highly sophisticated design software and advanced technologies allow fast implementation of various designs and highly complicated projects.
E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Main areas of our activities include:
- Marine zero-emission drive systems
- Electric drive design and construction
- Industrial electronics including inverters, DC/DC converters, power distribution units and their control
- Hydrogen system integration and control.
E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?
Our power electronics products contain numerous technological innovations – power transistors are exclusively based on silicon carbide – SiC, low-loss, custom made cooling systems, optimized control algorithms. Both our drive inverters and fuel cell controllers are designed and tested in our modern laboratories and in the vehicles of our customers. We have patented liquid cooling solutions. Control platforms are exclusively based on DSP processors. Certified organization and processes assure high quality of both services and products.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
We cover the field of services: Advanced simulation and design of electromagnetics, mechanics (static and dynamic) and thermal systems, construction/tests/production of electric motors, power electronic converters, drive units, hydrogen systems, tests of drive systems on advanced and computerized platforms, support during preparation and acquisition of research and development projects, integration of electric and hydrogen drive systems with boats and vehicles.
E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?
The market of zero emission drives for boats grows with the speed about 12% per annum. Many municipalities (Amsterdam) and lakes introduce exhaust restrictions or noise protection zones. The market for clean boat drives is growing. The market is in the early development stage however competition already exists.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
The market of zero emission drives for boats grows with the speed about 12% per annum.
E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
Boat zero-emission drives using advanced semiconductor technology and patented control algorithms, modern design, complex approach to customer (full drive set instead of selected components), newest battery technology (LiFePO 4 with individual battery communication).
E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?
Further growth of the market and growing interest in users of existing boats (retrofitting projects) as well as new boat constructions. Growing penetration of the electric boat propulsion systems in the sector of small and medium leisure boats. Hopefully more attractive battery system prices.
