The nomadiQ is smart, stylish and practical and can therefore be used anywhere, on the balcony, in the park, for a weekend or while traveling. It is light, easily portable and compact. Thanks to an ingenious folding system, it is still large enough to have a BBQ with at least 12 friends.

Interview with Telemachos Ravensbergen, Co-Founder of nomadiQ.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

Telemachos Ravensbergen: The founders of nomadiQ are real outdoor people. When the weather is nice, we like to go out. A small city escape or going on a short holiday to nowhere. Gather at fun places to BBQ and eat together with family and friends. On a balcony, in the park, on a boat, on a campsite or on the beach. 

We love to BBQ everywhere! But we did not have a BBQ that could easily be taken anywhere, is easy to use and looks stylish. That is how the idea of nomadiQ BBQ came about. Four years later, after a lot of (re-) development and testing, nomadiQ BBQ is ready to conquer the world!

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

T.R: nomadiQ develops and distributes unique smart outdoor cooking products worldwide.

Our goal: A popular premium brand known for smart (portable) outdoor cooking solutions for on the go.

Our mission: We want to offer a counterbalance to the everyday madness and stress that characterizes modern society. We want to give people the freedom to create that special quality (happy) moment with friends and family at any location. Preparing food connects, BBQ is fun. We only made it nice and easy to do it everywhere!

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

T.R: nomadiQ is a rapidly growing company with unique and stylish products that are increasingly sold directly to consumer (online and through events).

We will introduce the existing nomadiQ gas barbecue in two new colors at the end of 2024. The e-BBQ (electric version) will also be added to the range. 

In Q1 of 2025, nomadiQ will launch a very compact and portable stove on the market. Once again, a great example of quality and stylish design mixed with excellent practical skills.

In addition to our first main product, nomadiQ has accessories to make outdoor life even more fun. Some examples are protective covers, various baking trays (plancha and pancakes), gas bottles, cleaning set, non-slip mat and various connections to large gas bottles and a cooling backpack.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

T.R: Outdoor in general is growing (worldwide). Regarding Europe and focus on camper and caravan owners (nomadiQ core sales market):

Since 2017, more than 1.1 million caravans and campers have been added to Europe.

In 2022, Europe had 6.3 million caravans and campers, while in 2017 there were only 5.2 million. Campers represent 44 percent of that number, so caravans are still more popular.

More and more young people. Road trips with the camper have become extremely popular in a short time. Slow travel, going on holiday at your own pace, with everything on board: cooking equipment, bed, shower and toilet. Campers have drinking water on board, solar panels provide power and you can spend the night at campsites or at one of the tens of thousands of special camper overnight spots near villages, towns, marinas and sometimes even restaurants.

Exactly two-thirds (66 percent) of all campers in Europe are owned by people over 56. The share of young people who own a camper is growing. For example, within the 26-35 age group, camper ownership increased by almost 24 percent in 2020.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

T.R: nomadiQ products of course! Our own design team from the Netherlands (The Hague), led by Industrial designer Arvid Bouman, is internationally praised for its smart inventions/concepts and top-quality materials.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2024?

T.R: Further growth of our smart outdoor cooking brand in Europe through more and more direct-to-consumer sales. Supported by camping, boating, gardening dealers who can provide added value in the form of customers. presentation and price stability in their specific markets.
