OMEBA was born from the passion for precision mechanics of its founder, Mario Baruffaldi, who in 1991 opened his own business in Premana.
OMEBA, right from the start, grew quickly, renovating its headquarters in the year 2000 with the purchase of the first 5-axis machine. In 2016, through a business transfer and thanks to the know-how acquired, the company expands from Individual firm to Limited Liability Company.
In 2019, a new production unit is opened in Casargo, which guarantees the company, thanks to the innovative automation of new equipment, unmanned milling and turning productions.
Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.
Respect to the first, not easy, years of activity, it can be said that today OMEBA qualifies as a solid working reality, constantly growing and innovating; also, thanks to the entry of the new generation in the company management that carries on the family business, giving more innovation to already solid knowledge. There are currently 18 employees working in the company, divided in two production facilities: the first, main office located in Premana, dedicated to logistics and processing of small lots with machines manned by an operator. In the branch, currently expanding, located in the nearby town of Casargo, two work shifts characterized by greater technology alternate, with robots and bar pushers for autonomous automatic processing.
OMEBA’s main machining operations have always been turning and milling of precision mechanical parts. Turning operations are carried out from bar and take-up fully automatically up to 250 mm diameter, with bar or gantry/robot lathes, turning centers from one up to three turrets with Y-axis and counter spindle.
The milling department consists of 3 and 5-axis machining centers palletized or served by robots. Over the years, the company also provides assembly, treatment and testing of parts at the customer’s request.
E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Until today, OMEBA touches a wide variety of mechanical sectors; energy, aviation, automotive, electronics, medical…
The company enters the medical sector at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic period, in the years 2020/2021.
Contrary to many realities for OMEBA it becomes a period of exceptional growth and commitment to the supply of mechanical parts essential to the production of pulmonary respirators, instruments for the treatment of patients affected by the virus. With considerable human and economic effort, the company managed to meet the demands of the medical sector engaged in this pandemic challenge.
E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?
Aware of its importance, in 2024, OMEBA certified itself to ISO 9001, with the aim of bringing its enterprise in line with the standard, making improvements both from a management perspective and in terms of optimizing and improving production processes.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
OMEBA works both small and large series: from 10 to 100 pieces, up to approximately 10.000/20.000 pieces for year.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
In our experience, the market currently offers good prospects for growth as well as increasing innovation in the manufacture of the mechanical components required of us. There is also a constant demand for precision and product quality, especially in the aeronautical and medical sectors. It must be said that the flow of demand is not always constant; there are periods of intense activity while others are more static.
E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?
We don’t have a finished product of our own, in any case we can say that all the areas in which we operate, as they relate to the engineering sector, are always under constant development and innovation. This can be seen in the evolution of the products we produce.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2024?
In 2024, OMEBA will complete the construction of its new headquarters, ensuring more production space and improvement from a management perspective. For the future years, OMEBA aims to pursue in its growth in both quality and technology, establishing itself more and more in the precision engineering sector.
