Interview with Jaime Machón Vargas, Sales Director at ONNA.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

Jaime Machón Vargas: We are a young company but with extensive experience of more than 15 years in the home automation sector, constantly creating the most innovative solutions that the market demands, with the most robust products, most elegant designs and the best usability of all our interfaces.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

J.M.V: We mainly manufacture hardware and develop the software embedded on it to create the most intuitive user interface for smart homes and smart buildings.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

J.M.V: The integrations through API with several manufacturers in the market and also our new compatibility coming very soon with standard wireless devices. 

We are a company that is committed to constant improvement, introducing a multitude of improvements based on the experience of our customers, releasing new improved versions, which are updated in all our products since 2019 thanks to the technology with which we work, unlike what happens with other companies.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

J.M.V: We manufacture mainly 2 types of products, din rail servers and touchscreens with the server embedded on it, both products can be connected to a mobile APP or a BMS for control by users or managers.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

J.M.V: The home automation market has been evolving very slowly for many years, but without a doubt we believe that we are on the fastest growth curve of the last decade, thanks to companies like ours that develop highly innovative solutions with user-friendly interfaces creating real value to the properties thanks to certifications as BREEAM or LEED.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

J.M.V: We can confirm that home automation is on the rise, and that both wired and wireless systems will have a very important impact. 

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

J.M.V: We are convinced the “ONNA LIVING” solution will be the most innovative ONE in the market.  It has been created for managers who really want to have control over the facilities of their properties while they are rented by tenants, who are able to control the access or air conditioning through an application that only works during the period of their stay.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

J.M.V: Our estimations for the coming months are very positive including international expanding, we have been growing since our beginning back in 2019 when the company was officially created, even if all the people involved has more than 15 years’ experience in the home automation market.
