This includes product research and development, production processes, market positioning, product introduction, and after-sales support, all of which are managed from ORDO’s headquarters in Aalst, Belgium.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
I.D: Until recently, the access control and security market catered primarily to larger enterprises with numerous doors, significant budgets, and the well-known systems using badges and keypads. Each player in the market had their own solutions.
We live a start of a major turnaround to a generalization in access control and access management. Where this used to be limited to business applications, access control is currently finding its way to residential applications at a low-threshold level.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
I.D: With the actual advances in technology, the adoption of access control systems is likely to increase. The traditional key-based solutions are gradually being replaced by smart access solutions.
With a growing preference for remote control and real-time monitoring and analysis of access, people are seeking smarter and more efficient services and devices. This shift towards smart solutions is a clear indication of the direction in which the industry is heading.
