POWANDGO, REVOLUTIONIZING THE WORLD OF ELECTRIC MOBILITY

Powandgo is an innovative startup offering electric vehicle (EV) charging solutions. They specialize in a sharing system for private charging points at homes and commercial locations, enabling charging equipment owners to earn from electricity sales, while providing EV drivers with an accessible network of cost-effective private charging stations.

Interview with Fabio De Nardi, Ceo & Founder & Alessio Troilo, General Manager & Founder of Powandgo.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Fabio De Nardi & Alessio Troilo: The core business of Powandgo centers on our software platform that facilitates the sharing of private electric vehicle charging (EVC) points. Our primary focus is on developing and managing a user-friendly app that connects EV drivers with a network of privately owned charging stations, such as those at residential homes, restaurants, hotels, and shopping centers. This software platform not only enables easy location and reservation of charging points but also manages transactions and pricing, ensuring a seamless experience for both the charger owners and the EV drivers. Additionally, we are involved in the production of hardware such as charging stations and wallboxes, but the software aspect of connecting private EVC points remains our central activity.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

F.D.N & A.T: Our latest advancements are aimed at maximizing cost-efficiency and investment returns for both private users and EVC owners. Private users can enjoy up to 50% savings on charging costs compared to public stations, and EVC owners have the opportunity to quickly recoup their investment by renting out their equipment, especially accelerated for those with photovoltaic panels.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

F.D.N & A.T: We specialize in private EV charging solutions, featuring robust, aluminum-structured wallboxes and charging stations, along with a smart plug for small electric vehicles like city bikes and scooters. These durable devices, designed for both residential and commercial use, are integrated with our user-friendly software, providing an efficient and automated charging experience.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

F.D.N & A.T: The market for electric vehicle (EV) charging is booming, particularly in regions with strong policies supporting EV adoption. In Europe, governments are pushing for a transition to electric mobility, with several countries setting deadlines for phasing out combustion engine vehicles. This regulatory shift, coupled with increasing consumer environmental awareness, is driving demand for reliable and accessible charging infrastructure. Our presence is especially strong in Italy, Portugal, Slovenia, Romania, Croatia, and Serbia, where EV adoption is on the rise.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

F.D.N & A.T: The EV charging market is evolving rapidly. A significant trend is the integration of EV charging solutions with renewable energy sources, reflecting a move towards sustainability. There’s also a growing emphasis on smart charging systems that can manage power demand efficiently. In regions like Europe and California, where legislation is moving towards banning combustion engine vehicles, there’s a surge in demand for both public and private EV charging stations. Another trend is the collaboration between EV charging companies and real estate developers to pre-install charging infrastructure in new buildings.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

F.D.N & A.T: Among our most innovative offerings are the automated charging stations and wallboxes, which streamline the user experience from charging initiation to payment, based on the actual kilowatts delivered. Our smart plug for smaller EVs like city bikes and scooters is also a game-changer, providing a cost-effective and convenient charging solution for urban users. These products are designed to be compatible with a wide range of EVs, ensuring broad market appeal.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?

F.D.N & A.T: As we move into 2024, we anticipate significant expansion into new markets, including Japan, the United Arab Emirates, and the United States, in addition to our existing European base. With the increasing global push for clean energy and the phasing out of combustion engine vehicles in key markets, we expect a substantial increase in demand for our products. Our goal is to establish partnerships with local businesses and residential complexes to broaden our network of charging stations, capitalizing on the growing trend of EV adoption worldwide.
