RENZ designs and manufactures furniture – whether for the individual workstation, the open workspace, small and large conference rooms or the management area – with their furnishing solutions, you design inspiring working environments.
Interview with Mathias Renz, CEO of RENZ.
Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.
Mathias Renz: The design of working environments is our passion. Just like the love of form, function and material. Our drive is to furnish rooms individually and tailor-made. For a productive, open and professional working atmosphere. To achieve this, we are always close to our customers and their requirements. We recognize changes and new trends, from which we derive, develop and produce innovative products together with our designers. We rely on standards and yet leave room for individual wishes. So that our solutions fit every room and – most importantly – you.
RENZ has been manufacturing sophisticated furnishings for over 140 years, and has been producing them at our Böblingen site since 1913 – always “made in Germany”. This allows us to personally inspect each piece of furniture, because it only leaves our premises when it is perfect down to the smallest detail. We combine modern industrial production with craftsmanship. This distinguishes us from many other manufacturers and allows us to adjust our series products flexibly to your needs. Our designs have always met the highest standards of form, function and quality. We strive to set standards in the contract sector.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
M.R: At the main office furniture fair ORGATEC in Cologne (in October 2022) we launched SLIDE connect. With is, we answer the demand for a highly flexible office program. Meanwhile we are already busy with new designs for the office world. Stay tuned!
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
M.R: We offer desks with fix height or electrically height-adjustable. Representative conference room solutions, fixed or tool-free convertible with integrated media technology. Tables in sitting and standing height. Desks, tables and benches for NEW WORK solutions and in-between-areas for all kinds of offices. Our range of matching storage furniture completes our product range.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
M.R: The office furniture market is at a “turning point”. Some clients just go for cheaper and cheaper solutions and compromise on quality, longevity and sustainability. Others understand office furniture as working capital, which will help to win, hold and motivate staff and foster productivity.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
M.R: NEW WORK is on everyone’s lips. But NEW WORK is not new. It is our everyday reality. People work from home, the office or another place remotely. They work when their clients or colleagues need them or as their family situation allows it. Much more flexibility marks our working world. Our furniture follows this trend towards flexibility and a “living office” style. Multi-purpose use, flexible and mobile, for example on castors, adjustable in their height and their functional setup
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
M.R: Definitely our new SLIDE and SLIDE connect line. The program is extremely flexible and answers to all demands in the office market. Furthermore, we try to pioneer solutions with this product family and help shaping future offices.
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?
M.R: 2023 will be a challenging year for many. We are well-prepared to stay successful, we want to provide products, which exceed expectation to win long-term clients. Our clients ask us for new, smart, flexible and individual office solutions. We feel ready to give the right answers.
