S-Labs is an innovative solutions laboratory in the IoT segment. The company’s solutions from the Smart Energy segment enable, among others, automatic recognition of electricity receivers, their control, and measurement of energy consumption. Device identification occurs in real time, allowing energy suppliers to effectively engage consumers and offer them complementary products, closely tailored to their needs.

Easy Engineering: A brief description of the company and its activities.

APPARTME is a brand created 8 years ago in Poland. The idea was to introduce a simple but highly effective and intuitive “smart” system as a standard in newly built flats and apartments targeting the real estate – collective housing market and its developers.

The main product goal of the Appartme system is to enable control of the main areas:

  • heating
  • lighting, 
  • water valves 
  • electrical sockets 
  • using buttons mounted at the exit of the apartment and via a mobile application.

E.E: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Our core product is the Appartme system and its software development goes towards an offer for the Private Rented Sector market. We provide the ability to manage multiple apartments from the tenant level. And these are both the options available directly in our system, enabling the tenant to turn on and off the power, heating and lighting circuits remotely, from anywhere in the world, as well as much more options for creating reports and communication, providing an advanced tool for managing rented apartments.

E.E: What’s the news about new products/services?

Apart from providing the basic control over the apartment the Appartme solution allows to:

  • protect the apartments against flooding 
  • introduce significant energy savings for the user. As measured on our existing installations the approximate saving range is around 30% yet there are flats where the savings may reach up to 50%.

The real estate developers working with us profit from introducing new standards on their investments and receive a tool to generate additional income and build innovative marketing communication.

E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?

In the Appartme lineup, you’ll discover a range of wireless add-on devices from the Appartme+ series. These devices are compatible with the basic version of the Appartme system, allowing for the creation of dependencies and advanced automations, such as linking a water leak sensor with Appartme water valves for automatic shut-off in case of flooding. The portfolio also includes various types of sensors and even an electric curtain rod.

E.E: What is the state of the market where you are currently active?

In recent years, the residential real estate market in Europe has undergone notable shifts, influenced by a combination of economic, social, and environmental factors. The construction area is a specific industry because it reacts to any problems with an appropriate delay (including due to the fact that the construction of new apartments usually takes from three to five years). This is also the case today – all the latest analyzes still show the consequences of the crisis related to the COVID-19 pandemic and Russian aggression in Ukraine. This results in the suspension of new housing investments.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

One prominent trend is the increasing demand for sustainable and energy-efficient housing. With growing awareness of climate change and environmental sustainability, homebuyers are placing greater emphasis on properties that incorporate green technologies and adhere to high environmental standards.

E.E: What are the most innovative products/services marketed?

We believe that indeed it’s our approach that is the most innovative regarding how our product is designed and how it meets the needs of our customers – both Tenant and Real Estate Developers. But If We had to be more specific – water leakage detector combined with closing water valves automatically is something that puts us ahead of our competitors.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the beginning of 2024?

Having achieved recognition and a fairly stable position on the domestic housing market, Appartme is trying to acquire partners and representatives on foreign markets. We are open to cooperation with partners who are already active in the smart home field, electrical installations or who are current suppliers or subcontractors for residential real estate developers in their regions and would like to extend their offer.
