Easy Engineering: Which are the most futuristic products / solutions from your portfolio?

Sauter: The future is just around the corner and the Sauter company has prepared for it. Whether it’s turned parts for the automotive industry, especially for brake systems, chassis and non-drive components, or turned parts for hydrogen drives – we have the right solution for every need. But our wide range of products also includes non-automotive turned parts and small assemblies. By using state-of-the-art technology and optimal manufacturing processes, we create the conditions for innovative products and solutions with which we continue to set new standards.

E.E: Tell us about the company’s long-term goals / prospects?

Sauter: As a reliable partner to the automotive industry, it is important to constantly improve one’s position in the industry. Our company needs to ensure that we remain the best choice for our customers on the one hand, and explore new opportunities to gain market share in the non-automotive business on the other.

Meeting these demands can be difficult, so it is important to have the right combination of innovation, commitment and confidence. This means keeping our finger on the pulse and staying abreast of the latest technologies and trends. In addition, it is important to find new ways to gain non-automotive market share. As a company, we must always be ready to consider new opportunities and find innovative ways to implement them.

E.E: Tell us about product innovation and how does it impact the future?

Sauter: For us, it is not primarily about innovation on the component itself, but rather about how we can help our customers to manufacture their products as economically as possible. Our strength lies in the fact that we manufacture parts exactly according to customer drawings and work closely with our customers.

We see ourselves in an advisory role and contribute our experience and know-how. For example, we can make suggestions on how the manufacturing process and the production process can be optimized or which materials are more suitable.

Our innovation is then applied to the manufacturing process of the part itself. We are continuously working on improving our production processes and making them more efficient. This enables us to offer our customers higher quality at lower cost.

For us, innovation is not an end in itself, but a means to an end – helping our customers to manufacture their products as economically as possible. We are proud to be part of this process and look forward to continuing to find innovative solutions for our customers in the future.

E.E: What’s moving your company forward?

Sauter: A company can only become as good as its employees are. That is why it is our goal to have a motivated and satisfied workforce. We promote the personal development of our employees through an extensive training program, regular team-building activities and much more.

Sauter maintains a strong customer network in order to provide the best possible service together with each individual customer. Through long-term partnerships, we create further added value for our customers as well as stable framework conditions for us as a company. We also develop and realize projects with potential for the future.

Our modern machinery enables us to manufacture high-quality products and to produce according to demand. Added to this is our many years of know-how – this gives us the special advantage of being able to react flexibly to changes and to always keep our finger on the pulse with innovative ideas.

All these factors contribute to our company’s continued progress – motivated employees, a good customer network, long-standing partnerships, projects with great potential for the future, modern machinery and many years of know-how make us stronger every day!

E.E: How do employees shape your company’s future?

Sauter: As already mentioned, our employees are simply our most important asset. Without them, we cannot grow and we cannot be successful. Therefore, it is absolutely essential that they are actively involved in all change processes. It is invaluable that our employees have ideas whose potential we can use to shape the future of the company.

In today’s world, it is more difficult than ever to find and retain qualified staff. Therefore, we need to develop our existing workforce. We need to help employees realize their full potential. This includes offering them regular training opportunities to broaden their professional horizons.

E.E: How does the digital transformation affect your products / business?

Sauter: The digital transformation has long since arrived at our company and opens up completely new possibilities for us to make our manufacturing process transparent. By introducing innovative technologies, we can monitor the entire process from the customer’s order to delivery much better and also collect important data in real time. This makes it possible to identify deviations at an early stage and rectify them quickly, which helps to make the process more efficient and of higher quality. At the same time, this also ensures cost control.

E.E: Tell us about research and development in your company.

Sauter: We do not conduct any research and development; this takes place at our customers. However, this does not mean that we do not innovate in our company! We are always striving to improve our processes and workflows and to expand the range of products and services for our customers. In all of this, we place the greatest value on the consistency of quality and reliability.

E.E: Tell us about the company’s future strategies and how will you adapt to the future.

Sauter: In the near future, we will face a massive shortage of skilled labor. For this reason, it is imperative that we focus on more efficient production processes as well as higher automation in order to maintain the growth of our location in Germany. This opens up both opportunities and risks, which we must keep in mind. It is therefore of great importance that we continue to expand our foreign location in Romania in order to generate additional growth.

E.E: How do you think the future will look like in your field of activity?

Sauter: As a manufacturer of turned parts, we are particularly concerned with the question of how the mobility of the future will affect our work. We are certain that large quantities of turned parts will continue to be needed in the future. However, both the complexity and the intended use of the parts will change.

It will be particularly exciting in the area of future mobility. Here, not everything has been clarified by a long shot and it remains to be seen which types of drive technology will prevail. Depending on this, more or fewer turned parts will be used.

Nevertheless, we are positive about the future because there are a large number of drive-independent parts where we can contribute our expertise. We are convinced that we will continue to make important contributions to the development of innovative products in the future.
