SIGMADAF Clarifiers manufactures different equipment for industrial wastewater treatment, including dissolved air flotation systems (DAF)membrane bioreactors (MBR) and moving bed biofilm reactors (MBBR).

All their dissolved air flotation equipment is designed and manufactured down to the last detail in SIGMADAF’s facilities, which allows the company to have absolute control over the final quality of equipment. In this way, SIGMADAF can offer maximum guarantees of efficiency, reliability and durability of their DAF systems.

Interview with Sergio Venteo, Chief of Marketing Operations at SIGMADAF Clarifiers.

Easy Engineering: What are newest products in your range?

Sergio Venteo: One of our latest innovations is the SmartDAF system. This system uses big data and AI to automatically run our DAF units. This brings several benefits, such as operational efficiency, optimization of resources, minimal human intervention, as well as preventive and corrective maintenance.

In terms of machinery, the MBR and MBBR systems are our newest additions, although we have been manufacturing them for several years. Our main efforts have been aimed at improving the efficiency, durability, and reliability of the equipment.

E.E: Which are the most innovative / trending products and what special features do they have?

S.V: With the aim of satisfying the needs that customers convey to us, we have developed compact, plug & play DAF systems, which incorporate the physico-chemical treatment unit. These DAF units are delivered fully assembled and ready to operate.

We have also developed what we call package plants, which are MBR systems, equipped with Kubota membranes, that are delivered inside containers and ready to operate immediately.

E.E: How important are these features for the users in their work? / How do your new products / services differ from others on the market?

S.V: Our equipment offers a durability and reliability that no other competitor can guarantee. Additionally, we achieve contaminant separation efficiencies higher than any other manufacturer of DAF systems.

E.E: Tell us about research and development in your company.

S.V: We have an I&D department that is currently collaborating with different university centers to improve the performance of our technologies. 

We are working on maximizing the removal efficiency of our DAF and MBR units, and developing a new and smarter version of our smartDAF system.

E.E: What impact has product innovation on your customers?

S.V: Product innovation is a key aspect for our customers, as wastewater management and water reuse are an important issue for many industrial activities.

Our customers require efficient and reliable technologies that meet their needs and goals, both environmentally and economically. Product innovation is essential to guarantee that we can offer them increasingly efficient technologies for the management of their wastewater and for a responsible use of water resources.

E.E: What new products / solutions are you going to launch in the future?

S.V: There are some ground-breaking improvements that we are going to do in our DAF systems that will have a huge impact on their performance. As for now, we can’t make these improvements public due to confidential reasons.

E.E: What industries do you think will grow in 2024? 

S.V: There will be a higher need for water reuse across all industries, which will require reliable and highly efficient technologies. Sectors such as food, textile, pharma, cosmetics, energy, oil and gas will stay strong for the years to come.

In some parts of the planet there will be an important growth in sea water desalination plants.

E.E: What products/solutions do you provide for these industries?

S.V: As mentioned before, we design and manufacture customized DAF systems, MBR systems and MBBR systems. Additionally, we provide turn-key solutions for certain wastewater management projects.
