smaXtec is a health management system for dairy farms that helps farmers achieve better health, fertility and feeding results. At the core of the system is the unique bolus technology. It measures where it makes the most sense: directly in the reticulum. smaXtec collects and analyses precise data on inner body temperature, drinking cycles and water intake, rumination and activity of each individual cow and translates it into useful notifications and action recommendations, supported by AI. These deep insights enable farmers to detect diseases long before externally visible symptoms appear, so they take countermeasures at an early stage. In this way they achieve shorter and less severe courses of disease, can reduce costs and ensure a stable milk yield and thus the economic success of the farm. In addition, smaXtec offers precise data on oestrus and fertility.

The bolus technology itself is unique and provides unrivaled data for farmers. We as a company continuously develop our products further and release updates or launch new technologies on a regular basis. Our latest innovation is TruAdvice – see question 7. But, in general, we developed several unique technologies like TruDrinking, a technology with which the amount of water consumed per cow can be recorded for the first time. We as smaXtec are continuously work on improving offer our customers more and more innovations.
E.E: What are the ranges of products/services?
Our core product is the bolus that measures valuable health parameter like inner body temperature, water intake and drinking cycles, rumination and activity directly in the cows reticulum. Besides that, we have the pH bolus, which in addition to the cow’s individual health status monitors the feeding status of a herd. Alongside that we have the infrastructure in the stable: the Base station, the readout device, and the Climate Sensor for monitoring the conditions in the barn. The software is particularly important for the customer, and we pay particular attention to user-friendliness.
But most importantly, what makes smaXtec so unique is the close support by the smaXtec team, which enables individual consultation for each farmer. Every farmer has their own smaXtec consultant who helps to future-proof each dairy farm. The smaXtec team consists of experts with different areas of specialization, e.g. feeding or with a veterinarian background.

We operate in several different countries like e.g. USA, Germany, New Zealand, UK, Ireland, Netherlands, Austria, Switzerland, Denmark etc. Each country has to be looked at individually and each country has its own specifics and procedures in dairy production and the health management of dairy cows.

The TruAdvice™ technology combines the most precise measurements using unique bolus technology inside the cow with artificial intelligence, enabling not only early detection of diseases, but also specific indication of suspected mastitis cases. By combining high-precision data and artificial intelligence, farmers can act even more proactively and manage the health of their animals more efficiently.
