Interview with Ronald Bosboom, Export Manager at WARP Systems.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Ronald Bosboom: At the moment, we are contributing to the energy transition by providing our systems to between 25 and 30 houses per week. With the Dutch government mandating significant CO₂ reduction, WARP Systems is committed to playing its part by making a greener impact on the energy usage of our homes. Our systems are easy to install for professional installers, and we have also extended this simplicity to DIY installers. We have successfully achieved this goal. We provide all our customers with installation manuals, free instructional videos, and technical data sheets, offering everyone a transparent guide on how to install our systems effectively. This not only saves a substantial amount of time but also money for all parties involved.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
R.B: Our SpeeTile 10 product is unique because it is a water-based system with a tube diameter of 10 mm and a total build height of 15 mm, including the mortar. It boasts a faster reaction time compared to traditional underfloor heating systems. Our SpeeTile system warms up in just 30-45 minutes, whereas traditional systems can take 2 to 3 times longer. Installation is so straightforward that it can be done by anyone. The system features a patented click-break-slide mechanism, allowing it to fit seamlessly into any room without the need for cutting, sawing, or generating waste. The SpeeTile 10 system is incredibly versatile, suitable for use on floors, walls, and ceilings. Additionally, it can even be used to cool a room when combined with a heat pump.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
R.B: The basic components of our system include SpeeTile mats, tubes, and a manifold with couplings. In addition to these core elements, we offer a range of products designed to facilitate floor heating installation, such as SpeeTop mortar, SpeeTight spray glue, edge insulation rolls, and various tools tailored to assist DIY installers at home.In addition to our SpeeTile 10 and SpeeTile 12 systems, we also offer a dry build system called SpeeTherm, available in both 15mm and 30mm heights. SpeeTherm systems are installed on a wooden base floor without the need for adhesives, ensuring flexibility. With SpeeTherm, you can place the finished floor directly on top of the system.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
R.B: We are recognized as an A-brand in the Netherlands, and we are committed to delivering the same high-quality service and products to customers worldwide. Currently, we are expanding our product’s presence beyond our borders, reaching markets in Belgium, Germany, and the UK. Additionally, we have recently entered the Thai market, where a company showcased our products at the Nova Build show in Bangkok. In the Netherlands, underfloor heating has become a standard feature in renovations and new home construction. At WARP Systems, we introduced this revolutionary DIY building approach, eliminating the need to hire a specialist and providing more opportunities in the market.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
R.B: We observe that numerous European countries are swiftly adopting heat pump systems, and our systems seamlessly align with this forward-looking vision. The Netherlands is making substantial strides in renewable energy sources, such as solar panels, heat pumps, triple glazing, as well as insulation in floors, walls, and ceilings, alongside low-temperature floor heating. WARP Systems embraces this vision by operating our floor heating at low temperatures, with the system receiving water at 32 degrees Celsius and delivering comfortable warmth at 27 degrees Celsius at your feet. This ensures an even distribution of warmth across the entire floor surface, providing comfort throughout the living space. In warmer climates and during the summer months, our system can also be used for cooling purposes in conjunction with a heat pump, making the hot season more bearable for everyone.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
R.B: When it comes to our SpeeTile 10 and SpeeTile 12 systems, the standout feature is undoubtedly our patented click-break-slide system. This innovation makes our product exceptionally versatile, ensuring it can be seamlessly installed in any room or area. What sets it apart is that the tiles that are ‘torn off’ during installation can be reused, contributing to a future with less plastic waste. There’s no need for cutting, sawing, or disposing of any material; we simply click the SpeeTile system tiles back together and repurpose them in a different location or even on another project.
E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2023?
R.B: As we actively introduce our product in Belgium and witness a growing interest from German installers, we are embracing a promising future. We are passionate about spreading the word and ensuring that everyone understands that, regardless of their base floor type or the size of their home, there is always a solution to provide comfortable heating and cooling in their living or working spaces. WARP Systems is committed to making a lasting contribution to a greener future!
