E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

BRUMA: Our market is very competitive, and we believe we have been creating a brand that sells more than faucets, that sells a vision and a placement.

In Portugal, we are market leaders, which is an honour for us that our clients trust us and recognize the quality of our products. In strategic terms, at a national level, we are focusing on the hotel sector, and we’re strengthening our connections with architects and designers. At an international level, there has been a constant focus on the foreign market through strategic partnerships and presence at trade fairs. Our commitment to internationalization is reflected through the growth of our sales, with 30% of them being from the international market.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

BRUMA: The market has changed a lot in recent years, making customers more aware, informed and demanding. As customers are more aware and informed, they are worried about sustainability, technology and safety. In terms of market trends, we have noticed a growing concern for sustainability, ranging from the way products are made, to the way they can be sustainable in their homes, by saving water.

The other growing trend is the individuality of each client, with a different bathroom concept, more stylish and more concerned with design, functionality and personalization.

Among the range of collections we can offer, we have created a “colourful life” concept that offers the chance to turn their bathroom into a decorative focal point.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

BRUMA: We have several technologies that make us innovative in our sector.

For the sustainable part, we have several technologies, such as the Cold Start, that are the perfect harmony between energy saving, water flow and design, the BRUMA Ecodrop and Air Ecodrop, both technologies that can save water without compromising comfort in water use, we have a collection that is all made in Stainless Steel AISI 316/L, that make the products fully recyclable, highly resistant and eco-friendly, and we also have PVD finishes, that do not produce waste having a sustainable process and the most ecologically neutral when it comes to finishes.

For the safety and inclusion part, we’ve developed a technology named Hydrotherm 38º that can prevent scalding with a SafeStop button that blocks the rotation of the handle at 38º to prevent users from burning themselves, with special emphasis on children and people who are blind or have motor difficulties.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2023?

BRUMA: 2023 has been a positive year for us, surpassing some of its strategic forecasts. Looking ahead to 2024, BRUMA anticipates an even better year with several new features and offerings, although the exact details remain undisclosed at this time.
