BioCurve is part of Curvados Quintín group and is specialized in the manufacture of biomass condensing boilers. The factory and headquarters are in the north of Spain.
Interview with Asier Gómez, Technical Responsible at BioCurve.
Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?
Asier Gómez: BioCurve has developed and patented a boiler with a record efficiency (up to 105.7%), extremely compact and with a minimal maintenance.
As we are a young company with a very technological product, research and development is an important part of our activities, but now we are more focused on manufacture and increase of the distribution channel.
E.E: What’s the news about new products?
A.G: We have developed a cascade control that can manage several boilers all as 1 unique device, but with more modulation possibilities and a greater range of power steps. Thus, the operation of the equipment automatically adapts to the changing energy needs in different seasons of the year, optimizing its performance.
In addition, we manufacture energetic units. Boiler rooms with complete installation ready to “plug and play”.
E.E: What are the ranges of products?
A.G: Biocurve power range is from 25 kW to 150 kW. We also have 2 standard energetic unit configurable from 25 kW to 300 kW.
In any case, as we can connect several boilers in cascade, there is no power limit, and we can study any requirement.
E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?
A.G: There is great uncertainty due to high fuel prices, which makes many people consider biomass as a good solution.
E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?
A.G: The market is increasingly demanding and requires technological solutions with high performance and respect for the environment. In times of fossil fuel crisis, biomass is a renewable solution that supports the local economy, generates employment, and respects the environment.
In this context, BioCurve fits perfectly, and we predict a great future.
E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?
A.G: BioCurve has developed and patented:
- the first rotary and self-cleaning burner, which optimizes the combustion process, generating very little ash
- the first spiral biomass heat exchanger, dramatically increasing the exchange surface, up to 60% higher than a conventional boiler
The combination of these two improvements has allowed the development of the only biomass condensation boilers, without the need of external heat recovers, from 25 to 150 kW (expandable in cascade), with the following characteristics:
- record efficiency of up to 105.7%, and the consequent saving
- extreme compactness, reducing civil works or even allowing the access of biomass boilers to unthinkable spaces for conventional appliances
- minimal maintenance, due to its simple structure, without turbulators, and fully automated management
E.E: What estimations do you have for 2022?
A.G: We hope to establish ourselves in the countries where we already work and increase our presence to reach all of Europe.
