Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

JEKKO: We operate in the lifting equipment industry

E.E: What’s the news for 2020 about new products?

JEKKO: Jekko launched MPK06 minipicker at the beginning of the year, now we are working also at two new minipicker models, MPK09 and MPK12. This summer we are also going to launch a new 5 tons mini crane model, named SPX650: it implements many state-of-the-art technical solutions successfully applied to the recent and highly appreciated SPX532 and SPX1280, such as a new stabilization system and a sophisticated hydraulic system.

Last but not least, we are fine-tuning some new proposals for the glass handling sector, namely two vacuum lifter models and a glass manipulator.

E.E: What are the ranges of traded products?

JEKKO: Jekko offers a complete line of models equipped with diesel engine, electric motor or battery pack and a wide range of attachments including hook or hydraulic jibs, grabber manipulators for pipes and beams, vacuum lifters for glass panes as well as lifting beams. Our crane range is wide and includes telescopic mini crawler cranes, articulated cranes on tracks, minipickers and telescopic crane on tracks with cab, with various dimensions and lifting capacities.

Our products are engineered to meet our customers’ specific requirements and are designed to operate in narrow places where space is restricted. They are versatile and find ideal application in many sectors: glazing works, industrial maintenance, working on skyscrapers or rooftops, civil engineering, residential construction, electric and nuclear power plants, railways maintenance, oil and gas sector, aviation industry, and many others.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

JEKKO: From our point of view, market is growing. We obtained a very positive outcome during Conexpo exhibition in USA, with significant pre-orders volumes. Talking about other markets, the area of central Europe continues to be very important for us, especially as regards Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, France. Moreover, the Asian region is becoming for us strategic too.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

JEKKO: Ease of use, necessity of high lifting capacity compared to dimensions and weight of the crane, and in some countries the attention to environmental matters are driving the demand.

We pay attention to the requests coming from the market, that’s why we take into consideration ease of use, the necessity of high performances and environmental issues in our projects.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

JEKKO: One of the most innovative models is SPX532. It was first presented at the 2019 Bauma exhibition, appreciation for this model having grown significantly since then. With a maximum lifting capacity of 3.2 tons and a maximum height of 17.3 m, SPX532 is the most high-performance single door crane on the market and marks a sea change between the old and new design system. Numerous innovations include a cutting-edge stabilizing system, a sophisticated electronic and hydraulic design, greater ease of use, increased lifting capacity and a new and user-friendly radio remote control, not to mention the growing attention to environmental issues related to the use of lithium batteries.

The new SPX650 will be another innovative model: as already anticipated, it embodies all the latest major innovations engineered by Jekko.

E.E: What estimations do you have for 2020?

JEKKO: We are optimistic. Of course, we can’t pretend that the current health emergency is not having an impact on the entire world economy and on us as a consequence, but at the moment all orders are confirmed and we can rely on a strong partnership with all our dealers and customers. We are not sure that the forecasted sales budget will be reached, but even in the worst scenario we will at least reach 2019 sales volume.
