INTERVIEW WITH NDB

NDB is revolutionizing the energy industry by creating secure and cost-effective nuclear energy systems that are not only commercially competitive but also environmentally responsible.

Their mission is to harness the power of nuclear energy, without the harmful byproducts, to provide a sustainable and climate-independent energy source. NDB’s groundbreaking technology, the Nano Diamond Battery, produces electricity by utilizing radiation released during radioactive decay – just like solar cells, but without relying on sunlight.

NDB is committed to promoting a circular economy by resolving the nuclear waste issue and supporting society with clean energy. The company believes that NDB is the solution that will make sustainable nuclear energy a reality.

Interview with Dr. Nima Golsharifi, CEO of NDB.

Easy Engineering: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Nima Golsharifi: NDB has a bold vision for a sustainable future – a circular economy of clean energy technologies. We aim to achieve this through innovative solutions that make use of valuable radioisotopes currently stored in nuclear waste.

Our mission is to deplete these stockpiles by developing cutting-edge products like the NDB Cell and Volta. At NDB, we believe in the closed fuel cycle ideology, which involves reutilizing nuclear waste to power our future. It’s an ambitious goal, but we’re ready for the challenge. Our community of like-minded individuals and experts are already working tirelessly to turn this vision into a reality.

By harnessing the power of nuclear energy and promoting a circular economy, we can create a more sustainable future for generations to come. Stay tuned to learn more about our innovative approach to clean energy technologies.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

N.G: While NDB has not yet released any commercial products, we are continuing to advance their research and development efforts. The company has attracted significant attention from those who are interested in their innovative approach to clean energy.

NDB, their Nano Diamond Battery (NDB) is a breakthrough technology that can provide safe and sustainable energy for lifetime of a device without the need for recharging or replacement. The NDB is powered by nuclear waste and transducer layers to contain and transform the energy into electricity, producing clean energy with no emissions or toxic waste. This technology, which is a small-scale, self-charging power source designed for a range of applications such as powering remote sensors and IoT devices.

NDB has also announced that it is developing other clean energy solutions. The company is advancing its plans with Volta, the revolutionary microreactor that is changing the game in clean energy technology. Volta is a groundbreaking solution that provides clean and reliable energy for a sustainable future.

Volta is a modular microreactor that harnesses the power of nuclear energy safely and efficiently. The advanced design of Volta means that it produces minimal waste and has a much smaller footprint than traditional nuclear reactors, making it an ideal solution for powering remote communities or off-grid locations.

The innovative design of Volta makes it a highly adaptable energy source. It can be used as a standalone energy system or as part of a hybrid solution, which integrates with other renewable energy sources like solar and wind power.

NDB’s dedication to research and development can make Volta a reality. Our team of experts will work tirelessly to create this groundbreaking technology, which is set to change the way we think about clean energy. With Volta, we will be able to provide safe and sustainable energy for decades to come.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

N.G: When it comes to applications requiring moderate to substantial amounts of power, NDB is the candidate. Because of this, theoretically it could be applied to nearly any electric device.

The initial product offering is designed for use in environments where less power is required.

If we succeed the scope will be quite wide, starting from common devices we use in everyday life at home to industries or even it could be applicable for space and future space colonies.

While our work is challenging, and time sensitive it deems our team to work very hard day and night, as they do, to make them as safe as possible.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

N.G: The market for radioisotope-powered batteries and microreactors is still in its early stages. While there has been significant interest and investment in these technologies, they are not yet widely available or commercially viable.

The development of radioisotope-powered batteries and microreactors is a complex process that requires extensive research and testing to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness. While several companies, including NDB, are actively working on developing these technologies, they are still in the research and development phase and have not yet been widely adopted.

However, these technologies have significant potential to play a crucial role in meeting the growing demand for clean and sustainable energy. Radioisotope-powered batteries and microreactors have the potential to provide long-lasting, reliable, and emission-free energy for a range of applications, from powering medical implants to providing energy for remote communities.

As the technology continues to develop and become more commercially viable, we can expect to see an increase in the adoption and use of radioisotope-powered batteries and microreactors in various industries and applications.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

N.G: One of the main drivers of growth in the market is the increasing demand for clean and sustainable energy sources. Solutions such as those of NDB’s are seen as a promising solution for meeting this demand, as they offer a reliable and emissions-free source of energy that can be used in a range of applications.

Another trend is the growing interest in modular energy solutions, which are designed to be more compact and flexible. These can be deployed in a variety of settings, including remote and off-grid locations, and can be used to power everything from small communities to large industrial facilities.

There is also a trend towards increased investment in research and development, with several governments and private companies investing significant resources into developing and testing these technologies. This investment is expected to drive innovation and help bring them to market more quickly.

Finally, there is a growing awareness of the potential to address energy security concerns, particularly in regions that are dependent on imported energy. They can help reduce reliance on foreign energy sources and provide a reliable source of energy for critical infrastructure and national security applications.

Overall, while the market is still in its early stages, there is significant potential for growth and innovation in this space, driven by the demand for clean energy and the increasing interest in modular and flexible nuclear technologies.

NDB Inc. is a pioneering company that is at the forefront of the emerging trend in. With its innovative Nano Diamond Battery and advanced microreactor called Volta, NDB is leading the charge in the development of clean and sustainable energy technologies that can power a more sustainable future.
