Interview with Magnus Birch, Co-Founder of Sensepeek AB.

Easy Engineerig: What are the main areas of activity of the company?

Magnus Birch: Sensepeek offers user-friendly tools for developers under the brand name PCBite.

PCBite is a complete line of products handling your circuit board during the development phase. Powerful magnets together with a stainless base plate makes the system flexible, mobile and user friendly.

Forget about the old stationary circuit board holders placed deep inside the company lab, we have developed a mobile and user friendly solution made for a fast phase development environment. Let your circuit board travel safety on board our PCBite through the development and save a lot of time and hassle. The probes are steady but yet flexible made for instant measurements or total hands-free operations together with your preferred measurement tools such as a multimeter, logic analyzer, debugger/programmer, MSO (mixed signal oscilloscope) or oscilloscope.

E.E: What’s the news about new products?

M.B: We have just released our new SQ-series of probes, which includes handsfree isolated probes from 10MHz up to 500Mhz with a flat frequency response. The high-end probes will be available to the market before the end of 2022.

E.E: What are the ranges of products?

M.B: The product range is everything from handling the PCB during development, soldering, inspection and handsfree measurements up to 500MHz.

E.E: At what stage is the market where you are currently active?

M.B: The market is very mature when it comes to oscilloscope probes sold together with oscilloscopes but immature when it comes to the aftermarket sales, where Sensepeek has created a new market with the innovative handsfree systems solving the equation of only having two hands and many probes.

E.E: What can you tell us about market trends?

M.B: The trend today is to add more channels to the oscilloscopes, the manufacturers have increased the channels from two to four and now up to eight channels without a system to handle the fact we humans only have two hands. This is where Sensepeek comes in with a handsfree solution that can handle as many probes as the customer needs.

E.E: What are the most innovative products marketed?

M.B: PCBite, our handsfree oscilloscope probes that can be moved from one point of interest to another in only a second where the user can trust the result obtained in the oscilloscope.

E.E: What estimations do you have for the rest of 2022?

M.B: The new SQ-series will fill the gap over 200MHz which our SP-Series could not handle. The higher bandwidth will attract new customers and sales will increase.
